That is a fuck ton of drugs. Another reason why i feel like SR is a very low priority for most police agencies.

Police in Sydney have confiscated a haul of methamphetamine worth £297million after they were tipped off by an anonymous source.
They are hailing the find, the largest shipment of crystal meth they have ever seized, as a crippling blow to a powerful drugs syndicate, reports CNN.
The shipment was intercepted as it came into port from Southern China after a call made five months ago from an anonymous tipster in New South Wales to the state's Asian Crime Squad, police said.

It was around 530kg they seized. Ozzie media and the Government like to think each kilo of Ice is worth about $850,000.......
Buying that quantity directly from China, I doubt they paid more than about $20K per Kilo. But that's still going to ruin your day and push Ozzie prices even higher - if that's possible

"anonymous call" on 500kg of drugs ? either competitor knew somehow and gave them in or they were watched by the police.
also any evidence of them destroying that much drugs ? I don't believe someone would do that they would rather put them into circulation again secretely somehow..

From what I've heard(I don't pay attention to current events all that often) the anonymous call was just a random nosy neighbour complaining about odd people around at night or something to that degree.

If that's what was seized just think how much is getting through!! tonnes of the shit, Mexican drug cartels are focusing on Australia due to the massive mark ups and profits said to be the highest in the world!! SO WHY IS IT STILL $350 for a gram of shite coke down under???

@SSBD: I think its more due to the drug culture in Australia. Coke in the UK is 'almost' socially acceptable. Whereas the closest Aussie equivalent is meth which is still reviled. I think the high price is more to do with the rarity of dealers willing to get it due to limited customerbase.

Have you ever lived in Sydney? it is blanketed in cocaine and everyone is on it! yet it still attracts the highest price per gram on the planet outside of NZ.
I've lived in London too so I know the comparison.
They are shipping tonnes of the stuff here, some people are making a LOT of money.

Over here in WA, the only real drug that's close to "socially acceptable" would be ecstasy.
Even weed is frowned upon to a certain extent.

Oh you mexicans where are you when we need you...hmm i'm thinking we need to go over there and establish a bulk supplier, get it back here and smash the domestic coke market and sell grams of pure un-cut coke on the road for $150-$180. At that price the sales would never end...ever.
Oh yeah, was wrapped to see all the ice seized, thats some nasty shit. But again, i can just imagine how much has gone through undetected already.
I feel sorry for the nurses in those ice wards set up in the hospitals, whole new level of agro right there.

Mate you have no idea, that is IRL prices, some AU domestic SR vendors are charging upwards of $400 a gram, some have even been rorting way more than that in the past.
