Title: PGP Issues - very strange
Post by: MaoZedong on February 27, 2013, 11:38 pm
Hey, Ive made around 30 successful purchases off the road, encrypting my address every time, but recently an issue has come up that I can no longer ignore.

It all started a month ago when I was considering buying from LucyDrop. I was able to import his public key into my address book (GPG Keychain Access on GPGTools for Mac) but when I tried to encrypt my address to his key, his key was not one of the options. I made successful purchases from new vendors after this so I am confident my software works fine.

Today I tried to place a sample order with DutchTrade, and once again, his key is imported into my address book, but I am not able to encrypt my address to his key.

ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!

I have more info on the problem, but need someone more technical than myself to interpret it...

To the left of each of the keys in my address book, there is a little drop down arrow that you can click to expand the info on each person's key.

There are about 15 people in my address book with working keys and 4 that don't work and they all share similar traits with regards to the drop down arrow.

The 15 working keys, when you hit the drop down arrow, display 3 lines with the "type" category being pub, uid, and sub respectively...this is the case with all the functioning keys

The 4 keys that won't work, when  you hit the drop down arrow, display only 2 lines with the "type" category being pub, and uid

This HAS to do with the keys not working because it is too perfect to be a coincidence that the keys that don't work, and only the keys that don't work, have only 2 categories, while the keys that do work all have 3....

HELP!

All I can say is I have had issues with importing keys a few times to my GPG on my mac, i.e import then they are not showing, I have always found though that a full restart has fixed the issue.

If that doesn't work I am hoping someone else will be able to assist you.

Well if it isn't Chairman Mao Zedong. I had to respond because we havent hungout since... Well... You died  :-\ You know, I'll never forget that time at Stalin's 70th birthday when you were drunk and brought out the opium pipe and lost consciousness for at least 5 hours. To those close to you, you died twice. While you were out we saw some things happen to you that we promised eachotehr not to tell you about when you awoke. And you know the old MarxMen that we are never break our promises, I'm sure you would never even ask.

I don't know much about Mac OS but I had to stop by to talk to an old friend. Are there no alternative mac PGP applications you can use instead? I know you always liked to visit manufacturers, throw a new toy, device or gun at them and tell them to make 20 thousand more with cheap plastic polymer and pig iron. Perhaps China has treaded forth thru Mao's vision and continues to make knockoffs of everything it sees as useful or profitable to the regime (well you said "The People" publicly but always the "regime" with your officers and friends. Heh.) Good to see you're doing well other than your obesity that lasted thru your final years. You know Stalin had to fly in some Russian Athletes to be the pallbearers of your fat corpse? Turns out that half a cup of rice a day wasn't enough of a ration to make "The People" big and strong.

If you still like traveling, you would just LOVE North Korea, Mao, I'm telling you, it's your vision in full swing.

I wish we had camera cell phones back in the day when you brought out that ancient orient opium pipe, fuck did you look funny smoking out of that thing! Good times!
