Title: Seller's account offline
Post by: bunnyburt on February 27, 2013, 02:56 pm
I placed an order with a person who asked me to FE so i did (I had used them twice before so didn't think it was a problem) now today their account is offline, when i click their user name it only directs me to send a message, and they haven't replied to my message's sent 1 today and 1 couple of days ago. Does that normally mean SR shut their account down or they shut it down them self ? I know I've probably been scammed which sucks person got 6+ btc from me.

I hate being the bearer of bad news, but if you're being directed to the message page when you click on their username, it means their seller privileges have been revoked. Sorry to hear you got scammed, that sucks :(

Could they still access their message's though ? Trying to keep that 1 little bit of hope that i might still get my order. I'm not the only one that had placed an order saw a couple more people had placed an order (could tell from the feedback) I just can't understand why they decided to scam me now my last order was roughly the same price and i got that okay.

I'm not sure if they still see their messages, although I would imagine they would if the option is still there to send them a message.

They decided to scam because they are scumbags, plain and simple. It is one of the downsides of anonymous market places. I hope you have better luck going forward :)

Does it happen a lot, Do sellers decided to be all legit for a while then get loads of orders and scam them. Lesson learned though i will never FE again if someone ask i'll tell them to cancel the order.

It happens a bit, but do some research on the forums and you should be fine :)

Some red flags to watch out for before ordering include:

1) a sudden increase in the number of FE transactions listed on the vendors feedback page

2) being contacted by the vendor and being asked to FE when normally you don't

3) a sudden 'too good to be true' price drop offering some sale offer

4) annoying asci in the vendors advertising

Just refuse to FE and you will be fine, escrow is there for a reason and those who do not use it should be treated with caution or avoided altogether.

Yeah number 3 happened. I asked why you dropping it so low and got the reply "Need to shift it asap" I kept thinking to myself "well it's too good to be true" but then i thought "well i've had 1g and 1/2 oz of weed from him before so if he was going to scam me he would of done it last time on the 1/2 oz" Well that teaches me to listen to my gut instincts next time. the person was kurts he had a few other orders placed so i doubt i'm the only one screwing right now. I guess everyone gets scammed on here at some point. Just a shame the wanker took me for £130
