Title: Order "cancelled", next step?
Post by: devilbnr on February 25, 2013, 07:49 pm
I placed an order ten days ago, during the crises in which the BTC deposits were multiplying and whatnot.  I used funds that were legitimately deposited into my account to place my order, and was asked to FE by the vendor due to my stats. I complied.  Now I check on my order ten days later, and the vendor says it was canceled and that SR advised them to due so because the payment would not be received if they shipped it.

My account was properly charged for the cost of the purchase and the transaction shows successful. Are there any steps I can currently take to reverse the transaction, or am I screwed?

lets start off who is the vendor you bought from.  this may determine legitimacy.  i can think of 2 cases
case 1- you have 5 dollars; you purchase something and finalize.  your account goes from 5->0; done.  system says transaction complete
case2-you have 5 dollars (only have 2.5 since system doubled; some users claim to have lost funds);you make a purchase and fe.  your account goes from 5>0;done.  system says transaction complete
i know u said funds were legitimately deposited, but you do not specify if you know for sure if the funds showing were accurate.  ofc they are legitimate.
if a vendor cancels an order it should not show that you have made a successful purchase.  you should get an automated msg saying bla bla bla cancled.
i know this doesnt answer your question fully, but could help clear things up

The vendor was Puzzle: silkroadvb5piz3r.onion/silkroad/user/413bf6eb3c

Edit: I was wrong, I did place the order before the transactions were rolled back. Even so, the deposits I had made that day would have entirely covered my transaction; I put in about twice as much as my purchase would have cost.

So just to be clear you ordered, finalised and then the vendor cancelled?

I'm not sure this is going to have a good outcome I'm afraid mate, vendors were advised to cancel orders at that time due to the accounting irregularities along with some people attempting to make buys with coins that had been misdirected to their accounts.

However given you finalised you took yourself outside of escrow and as such SR support is unable to help you. Probably the best thing you can do if contact the vendor and explain the situation  i.e. you have released funds on an order that you have since cancelled, in fact surely under these circumstances the vendor has not cancelled, they are just refusing to ship the order given they would have received the funds when you released them??

Scout care to comment on this one???

Exactly this as far as I can see.  It wasn't "cancelled" as SR sees it; I think when the vendor says cancelled he just means not sent.  I'll try to talk to the vendor, but from the message they already sent me I get the feeling they're not going to be willing to help.

Thanks for the info so far.

Edit: Maybe a SR rep could confirm with him that the payment went through?  I'm not very experienced here so I don't know what avenues I should pursue.

Unfortunately mate once you FE you are on your own, irrespective of the circumstances. You will just have to try and persuade the vendor to do the right thing, hope you work things out mate.
