Title: Question about becoming a vendor, exchange rate and commission fee
Post by: railroadbill on February 24, 2013, 06:38 am
Hi, i am interested in becoming a vendor and after reading the sellers guide and the wiki id like to know which MTGOX metric does SR use to calculate the exchange rate? And how is the commission fee on sales calculated?

Also i would like to know more about the dispute process with buyers, will a delivery confirmation number resolve any dispute about the buyer receiving the item? What if the buyer disputes that the item was not as described, am i obligated to give a return and if so how much? Do i then pay the commission fee on the total amount of the sale or just the portion that i kept?

Ok so according to what I have read elsewhere (thanks slicker) SR uses the mt.gox 24-hr average exchange rate which can be found first row 2nd to last column here: http://bitcoincharts.com/markets/

I am still looking into the second part of your question.

I also have wanted to open a sellers account for awhile now but with the current rate of the bitcoin the "fee" to do so seems much higher than what previous sellers had to pay.

My apologies for being off topic here .....  I've been here at SR for almost a year now and enjoy the forums. I don't post all that much but for a long time now I am no longer able to "reply" to any posts here on the forum. I was shocked when I saw that there was an option for me to reply here in this thread so I jumped in here with my question.
Can someone please help me out as to why my "reply" privileges seem to have disappeared?  I don't think I've committed an infraction of any kind. Maybe something
in my settings? I have been trying to fix this for a long time and would really appreciate anyone's help with this.

I passed your question up to DPR and I have just heard back that the SR wiki has been updated to cover what you inquired about re how disputes are considered.

Hope this answers your question.

You need to contact inigo to request vendor status, make sure you include your stats in the PM

Oh so its all up to an admin as to what the refund rate is and if a buyer gets it. Was hoping for some hard rules but that is good too.

To people asking about becoming a vendor, under account options theres a link on the right that says "become a seller".
