Title: please hold my hand and help me find my BTC!
Post by: oohlalola on February 21, 2013, 03:46 pm
Hey buddies, either I'm an idiot (which is entirely possible) or some strange goings-on are afoot...

I bought 4 BTC from Coinbase right before the Great Coinbase Debacle of 2013. Got tired of waiting, bought another 4 from a private individual. 4 hit my SR wallet that afternoon, I assume it's from the individual. A week later I'm still nagging CB about where my BTC are. They say they sent it and show their transaction record. When I pull up my wallet on Blockchain.info, I see two separate deposits of 4 BTC each. However, compare that with the activity SR shows for my account, which only shows one 4 BTC deposit. I can't figure out who is in the wrong and where my money went. I have screen shots and etc that I can send to whichever one of you brave souls steps up to the plate on this one.

Please help! Damsel in distress!  :'(

If both transactions you see on blockchain.info (you used your SR deposit address right?) have many confirmations then it could be a problem with SR and you should contact support.

Also be sure those 4 btc transactions you see are deposits ! SR tumbles the coins so make sure you re not confusing a withdrawal for a deposit. If there are indeed 2 deposits then you shouldn't bother coinbase, they 've done their part.

Hey there!  I believe that acider is basically correct.

The way I see it: if both of your blockchain transactions that are confirmed are indeed deposits, each for 4 btc, and yet only one has shown up in your Silk Road account wallet, then the other was received by the Silk Road, but they did not credit it to your account.  This means that you should send a message to customer service - I think they're officially called the Support Staff or something - and ask them to manually credit your account wallet for the other 4 btc.

I myself am trying to get a deposit credited to my account that did not get credited correctly due to the systemic accounting errors that occurred last week on the 14th of February.  I have yet to get any action from the support staff, and it has been almost three days.  So, I would expect that after you send them a message asking them to credit your account, that you will have to wait awhile to get any meaningful response in terms of actions with respect to resolving your problem directly.

Feel free to ask if you have any more questions!

Best wishes,
D

You need to contact SR support and be prepared to wait a few days for a response, if the coins are in the block chain this issue is at the SR en.

Keep me posted as to when it gets sorted, twice daily 'I'm still waiting to hear from support" messages are not necessary  ;)

SR support will fix things for you, they are just rather slammed right now.

Update: SR support is amazing. Took care of it in timely fashion and were totally cool to deal with. Couldn't be happier.
