I'm not sure what you are referring too, where does it say about making a deposit? have you sent coins to your SR wallet?

Hi there,
I've got the same problem here. I'm also new to SR and I want to make my first deposit. When I click on "account", a page comes up with a link labeled "Click here to make a deposit" which refers to this page: http://silkroadvb5piz3r.onion/account/first_deposit
When I open this link I only see some note (Headline: Warning: Read this before making a deposit to your account) which ends with "Once you are ready, send your deposit to this address:" but the address is missing.
Help would be much appreciated!
Thanks!

I have tried to open that link and it will not open, it sounds dodgy anyway.
Have you registered for an SR account??
The only link you should use is :
http://silkroadvb5piz3r.onion/silkroad/home
I have never come across the problem you are describing, bitcoin deposits are then made from outside of SR via a bitcoin provider, wallet etc.
Scout can you comment on this??

Hi again,
yes, I have an SR account and I used the correct SR URL to register. I found this post from DPR in the forums from February 6th (http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/index.php?topic=117878):
<quote>
We also get way too many people asking for PIN and password resets, so I've changed the account page to show a warning message about making sure you know your PIN and password before making a deposit if you've never made a deposit on the account, or haven't in a few months.
</quote>
Seems like this is the page we are talking about. But as I stated above, there's a bug: I can only see the warning message but the bitcoin adress to make deposits to is missing. If the site is up again I'll make a screenshot.
Thanks for your help,
antithese

Ok thanks for clarifying, this is not something I have come across before.
This will need to be addressed by an admin i.e. inigo

Yeah I'm having the same problem, about to make my first deposit, and after the PIN warning, it says "Once you are ready, send your deposit to this address:", and there is nothing after it, no address. some help would be really appreciated

I've been getting a lot of reports about this. I have made multiple new test accounts, and have not been able to reproduce what you guys are describing. Every single time there is bitcoin address at the very bottom. So far the only pattern I've noticed among the people who are reporting this is that they are all brand new users. So a few possibilities are coming to mind. First I thought maybe these new users don't know what a bitcoin address looks like, and don't realize what it is that they are looking for. But it seems unlikely that everyone would say that there is "nothing" after the "Once you are ready, send your deposit to this address:" line, if there was in fact a long string of letters and numbers at the very bottom. So now I am thinking that maybe the people who are experiencing this problem are accessing the site in a different way than I am, and maybe that's why I can't reproduce the error.
So I have a few questions for those of you who are experiencing this bug: Are you using TorBrowser on an actual computer? Or are you using some different tor app on a smart phone or tablet? Or maybe your on a computer, but your using one of those ".to" proxy websites, and not using TorBrowser like you should be. I have found in the past that some users who use those web proxy's often have problems with captchas, and maybe that same issue is causing them to have problems with the SR wallet bitcoin address. OR, if you are using TorBrowser, do you maybe have some kind of script blocking add-on installed/enabled?
The more of you I can get to answer these questions for me the quicker we can get to the bottom of what's going on.

I enabled scripts in tor browser seems no luck. Maybe ill restart the tor browser and try again.

I just created a new account and now I can see the bitcoin adress. I didn't change the settings or anything, so I have no clue, why it's working now and only with the new account. Maybe the problem has something to do with the particular time the old account was created.
Anyway, the problem seems to be fixed now. Thanks for all the help, highly appreciated :-)
greets,
antithese
PS: I'm using the Tor Browser Bundle on a regular PC (Ubuntu 12.10).

Glad to hear things resolved themselves even if you don't know how! ;)
