Title: the ability to unsubscribe from a thread you no longer have interest in

i know you can 'unsubscribe' from a thread by deleting all your posts in that thread, but it's a pain in the arse to look for your specific posts, especially with a post count as large as mine.

i have several threads i no longer have interest in, but can't find my posts to delete them, and some of them if i did delete the conversation on the thread would no longer make sense to anyone reading them - i just want some of these threads to stop appearing in my 'Show new replies to your posts'

surely it can be done?

bump to this request.

we already have a "notify" option in each thread, there should be an option with the opposite function

is this simply not built into the framework of simplemachines forums?

if possible it would be a big +  :D

I would also love to know how to "un-subscribe" without having to delete my posts...

is there a way to do this?
(maybe post a specific "code" in the thread so that it wouldn't appear in your "new replies to your post"-list anymore)...

I do hope there is a possibility to do this!

unfortunately there is not a way to do this at this time!

but there are many of us who are trying to raise awareness of this feature request

Cool cheers blue, although I have realised since after checking the threads you want to in the 'show new replies to your posts' you can actually click 'mark all as read' which does clear the crap you can't be bothered to read, but still an 'unsubscribe' button would be a nice, possibly easy to implement, addon

I concur with this request.  Honestly, even if it's not SUPER EASY to implement it would be worth the trouble.  It's a huge pain in the ass to reply to a super thread, then months later decide you don't want updates to it after you've been ignoring it for so long. :P

As much as I would love to see this feature happen I do not this it is possible to install it on SMF  :(

I don't want to  have to delete my posts as some serve a purpose - such as the "post public keys here" thread that is always popping to the top.

Well if people would just stop bumping it then it would stop popping up in our show new posts list!  :P
