Are there any exceptions to this? For example Marijuanaismymuse requires new users to FE. He clearly isn't a scammer. Does anyone have an oppinion on FE for MiMM. I was planning on FE for him for my first order in the next month or so, as he requires new users to do so. Through the research  i've done he appears to be one of the few vendors on here I would possibly FE for with some confidence. Plus he is Domestic for me, could he be an exeption to this " Never *&$#$#$ FE Wisdom" ?

I think the people who FE are new buyers who dont look into the forum and dont do any research. I think everyone on the forums know to not FE.

Here is the deal with finalizing early for established and reputable vendors - It will work out well for people until this person decides to leave the market. When they do this, because people are finalizing early they get to walk away with a load of BTC before people realize anything is wrong.

You're still risking losing all of your money if you just happen to buy at the wrong time.

But what if a geezer has a policy wherein you have to FE if you have under 10 transactions..... ?

And said geezer has product no one else has ?

And said geezer has decent reputation ?

If one doesn't FE then one won't get product....

Bit of a catch 22.

^One must go but DvD's or ebooks then to get 10 transactions, therefore not having to worry about FE

Ok as a general rule I agree 100% with the OP.

However.... I do occasionally FE, for a few vendors who I have an agreement with, without which I won't get my product. I understand the risk, I trust the vendor, my product arrives.... make of it what you will...

The bottom line is that there is inherently risk any time you finalize early, and to keep in mind that you might well get screwed over on your way to making it to a certain number of transactions.

I made a few large transactions from the beginning with reputable sellers (after reading feedback there and here) and even though my overall transaction # was low, the amounts of the transactions quickly made any reputable vendor comfortable with using escrow.

Some vendors require FE for their products.  This is especially the case with most of the veteran vendors who have been here a while.  Some vets don't require FE and they are definitely the  Kool Kats.
I did an FE and it was a bad experience, so I will never do it again.  SR Escrow was put in place for a reason and really is the only was a buyer won't get taken for their money if the vendor decides not to deliver, walks away with the BTC, never had the product to begin with, etc...
If a vendor is requiring FE, I try to find one that isn't and hope others will too and this will force vendors to stick to the Escrow system as it was created.

Communication is key as well. I FEd for my first order and it has not gotten here when I was told it would, now I am having trouble getting ahold of the vendor (a very reputable one) and I am worried that my package will not arrive. This is a terrible first experience that causes me to lose faith in the whole system and humanity in general. In retrospect, I should have just shopped around until I found a vendor that did not FE, and like others were saying, build my stats until I'm not seen as a risk to a vendor. shouldn't have jumped the gun and assumed a great reputation means I will definitely be taken care of! hopefully I will eat my words in a day or two and get my package, but it is still a very unpleasant experience to feel like maybe you've been selectively scammed.
