I disagree tango, I know of a situation where some people I know were all charged with the same offense, nothing too serious but in the time it took to come to trial the charges has changed from a civil to a crown offense. During that time one friend decided to get on with life and not respond to any calls to 'come in for questioning', they were under no obligation to do so either but the other friend came in for the chats, even returning from overseas work commitments. What happened, the friend who did the 'right thing' by coming in for the chats was remanded and got a custodial sentence for 18 months, paroled after 12 for good behavior and time spent on remand. The other who ignored everything got nothing, they were pulled in for questioning 2 years later after a typical road traffic stop and check, they were arrested, they called a layer, the charges were dismissed almost immediately as there was no case to answer and they walked. Moral of this story, the law is corrupt and fuck the police, they only want to fuck you and anything you tell them will be used against you.
