You have no idea how much I would love to see this feature on the forums! There is a thread running in feature requests asking for this to be added, I really hope an unsubscribe option becomes available at some stage. Currently the only way I know of being able to 'unsubscribe' to a thread is if you delete all the posts you have made in it.
