Newbie discussion / Re: Silk road drug prices
« on: January 20, 2013, 08:40 am »
X prices are good. Meth is fair. Everything else seems high compared to real life.

You have to factor in the additional costs vendors incur when selling via SR, vendor fees, account fees etc. Ultimately I look at this place as convenience factor and am happy to pay a premium for that service. If I could get my drugs of choice easily and reliably in the real world without having to deal with unreliable shady characters I wouldn't be on here, as I suspect is the case for many others.

Yes, though us as buyers are incurring the costs of SR not the vendors if they put their prices higher. And a lot of pricing has to be not with quality of product but the prices the vendors get the product for in the first place.

And not all street dealers are actually "street" IRL, they are people who act just like the vendors you see online just without SR. They don't post themselves on the corner, the buy their bricks like the vendors on here, and they sell decent product. The reason to use SR is to buy the drugs you are unable to obtain in your local area, and if you want to outsource and buy internationally you can find certain drugs for cheaper than your domestic, except for certain drugs.

HELP LOWER COCAINE PRICES ON SR!

Agreed, I have been lucky in the past to know of some very professional operators IRL to score from but since moving countries it became impossible, buying drugs IRL in AU is a fucking pain in the ass.

... and you won't get any complaints from me if the price of coke comes down  ;)

Also address suggestions and all kind of stealthy sneaky maneuveurs for the newbies would be appreciated

Really depends on which country you are in, in my country you can buy via anonymous cash deposits over the counter in most banks, just use as fake email address to book the order and of course be mindful that your browser history could link you to the order but the chances of that happening are very slim. Remember bit coins are not illegal and can now be used to purchase all sorts of things, not just goodies on SR.

There are some reputable vendors on SR who sell bit coins, just make sure you do plenty of research before taking the plunge to avoid getting scammed, as a general rule the posts that spam up the forums are scams (e.g. Virwex).

Whats up with the super strict AU stuff I always see anyway?  drug sniffing kangaroos?
I'm an idiot, I totally laughed at this. imaginary +1
I've been really curious about that for a while actually though, why in particular is Australia so efficient at catching stuff in the mail? Is there a lot of contraband so they're super vigilant or something?

Aussie customs are no better or worse than many other countries but they are tight none the less, they take bio security very seriously here and customs/LE have a hard on for drug enforcement. In saying that though a lot does get through and there is a lot of myth and rubbish posted on these forums regarding the efficiency of customs etc.

Hi All,

Looking to buy a few pills in the near future (probably 5-10 200mg's) and was wondering what happened in the unlikely event customs seized the package. Do they simply confiscate it? Or can charges be pressed? As the title says, I reside in Australia (WA).

Thanks

My perceptions regarding what AU customs and police do in the case of small intercepts has been significantly challenged recently. My advise is to not get complacent, never have more than one order 'in transit' on its way to a particular address at one time and if you can sever all ties between you and your drop then do it thus avoiding involving anyone you know and/or yourself in something you really want to avoid at all costs.

Stay safe  8)

what a fuck stupid spam 50 post pass.

Interesting you post such a thing and advertise the Virwex bit coin scam/spam in your signature, newbies beware of people like this, normally I would delete but I am leaving this up as a warning to others so they can see how shill accounts come on here open and post crap whilst advertising scams to rip people off, you are the worst kind of person!!

Smashing your hard drive won't make it unrecoverable. Use the software, Dban.
Darik's Boot and Nuke: http://www.dban.org/
How To Delete and Wipe Your Data Securely With DBAN: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lwCCim2V_J
DBAN wipes the entire drive -- boot sector, OS, swap space, slack space, everything.  :)

^^^This, but personally I would be disposing of that computer hard drive altogether, smashed and scattered to the 4 winds where no one would ever find the pieces. For the cost of a replacement HD compared to what my liberty is worth I know what option I'd be taking.

Hope things work out ok and remember NEVER TALK TO THE POLICE!

Newbie discussion / Re: PGP Question
« on: January 17, 2013, 09:13 pm »
Funny thing, I was asked the other day if I knew how to crack licensed PGP (the Norton one) by my boss as part of a litigation case (we do the IT part of the work).

There are some interesting articles about giving up passwords and the short of it is that as far as the law is concerned, you can be ordered to give it up.  In one case, the guy forgot to dismount his TrueCrypt archive and the border patrol saw the contents but when they went back to dig through forensically it had automatically dismounted.  They argued that since they already knew the contents that he had to provide access.  Fair enough.  But in another case, they only suspected what might be in the woman's drive and used the same logic; total BS to me because they're just fishing at that point.

Personally, I'll take contempt and its consequences over giving it up though.

Hence the need to make sure you have the outer volume also set up with some innocuous stuff saved in there so you can 'if forced' give them something, suspicion doesn't constitute evidence and unless you hand it over they cannot prove otherwise. And yes I would take my chances with a "I'm sorry I just cannot remember the password" over handing them my ass on a plate any day, the burden of proof resides with them to prove remember, innocent until proven otherwise. Never talk to the police.

If you are concerned about your order, especially if you are trying a new vendor, don't be afraid to send them a FRIENDLY message asking what's going on. Some vendors really get swamped with ordered and messages so it can take quite some time for them to get the orders packaged and out. You should never feel like you can't message a vendor and you don't need to wait 3 days. You're giving them YOUR money, you're allowed to know what's going on with it. It's often pretty difficult to be patient when you know what will be in the package you're waiting on ;)

So are you asking if your public key if posted on here could be matched with a record of your public key stored on your computer if someone 'accessed' it?

If so then theoretically the answer would be yes, someone could potentially see that they were the same, I have any sensitive information on my computer locked away safely in an encrypted volume only accessible via truecrypt - highly recommended for all.

Truecrypt also allows you to set up an inner and outer volume too with a different password for each so if 'forced' to give up a password you just give them the one to the outer volume. It is highly debatable if LE could force you to give up a password anyway if you claim to have forgotten it, ask any IT expert how much time they spend dealing with forgotten passwords.

Hope that helps.

Have just been in the newbie sub forum and people are not happy let me tell you - I need some good karma  :-\
Just been there people are pissed off, I think 50 posts is a bit harsh but maybe that's to limit the virwex spammer to one board? Newbies shouldn't be punished for the spammer but it's difficult to reach a happy medium. +1 my thoughts are with you samesamebutdiffernt. +1's to all I can on pages 166, 167, and 168. Have a great weekend ahead everyone :)

The spam/scam threads are only part of the issue as I see it, too many newbies come onto the forums and start creating threads for topics discussed to death and/or posting some highly inappropriate stuff (e.g. disclosing too much). I was hoping the change would force them to invest some time getting to know how things work on here and read up on the wealth of information at their fingertips, unfortunately that hasn't been the initial reaction with most just posting junk to build post count and gain access to the main forum pages.

It has also as scout rightly pointed out concentrated a lot of the spam in one place which to some extent does make it a bit easier to delete but it also means the newbie section is getting slammed with that crap which has just given me an idea that we need to post some stickies in there quick telling them those threads are scams.

Happy Friday people  8)

Wow, is this really how one solves the problem with spam?

I'm greatly disappointed, is it that hard to just set a longer time-interval at which one can make a post?

It's an open forum anyone can join at anytime so as fast as the moderators delete the spam more gets posted and as fast as the admins ban the accounts posting the spam more get opened, as I said it is an endless battle.

I knew it was a bit risky posting in here as tensions are clearly running high but at the end of the day no matter what changes get made some people are going to take exception to them. I do no even know if this change was in direct response to the spam issue, as I said it would be great if people new to the forums invested some time doing some reading before creating new threads etc and using the search function to do some research and I guess I'm hoping this change will encourage people to do that, only time will tell.

anyway... I'm off to delete some spam.

I'll leave it at that and I hope this sub forum calms down in a day or two when people get used to the change.
