Sounds like you want to give up the fight and give it to another platform.
That does not seem the right way to me...

A well known vendor has created a SILKROAD FORUM BACKUP using the same forum machine.

Please PM me for details as the hidden URL is only posted in the vendors roundtable right now!
I will answer each PM as fast as possible. Please be patient if it may take up a few hours
depending on how many inquiries come in ;)

greets, yours JD

Pm sent, not ready to jump ship unless that is what the community as a whole does.

I would rather have a newer version of Silk than go to either of the others yet. I am certain you guys are on it. Thank you for fighting on.

Cheers.

I see no real need to move to other forums yet but I wouldn't expect to see anything like a resurrected SR before next year.

BTW, is the forum backup you refer to the same as that mentioned by Happyman above?

Well damn the forums for eating my post. It was lengthy.

Summary.

I applaud any and all work done towards keeping up the impetus we need to keep together. I simply joined, said hello, and left. I did not take the time to peruse the user list. If Happy is over there....it saddens me a bit, because his less than exemplary behavior in this time is accruing him bad forum karma which makes me ill at ease with his posting style.

That said. I will not poopoo anyone's ideas and applaud people who know more about software programming than me doing the good work.

I will land where the portion of the community whom I am most comfortable with lands. I am hoping that is somewhere together eventually, but I accept that may not be the case. In the meantime I applaud people who are trying.

Cheers.

YES, it is but it should not have been mentioned on the main site yet as we want to be sure that we keep LEO away as long we can. We do not want to make mistakes twice that have been done already.

greets JD^^

As do I. I'll continue hanging around here and also seeing what people are doing at the other two main market forums.

I've just noticed that HM is posting outside of the Newbie forum with less than fifty posts. Oddness.

Ah. Oops :-\

We should look at the migration to BMR forums as being our contingency plan. Otherwise, we should continue to converse here.

I've been conversing with some refugees from the Official Spare Coins Thread over on Sheep Marketplace and I'm afraid that their forum software is terrible. The market there is also confusing and very poorly explained. It all looks very nice but, Goddess, it's clunky to actually use.

It's not about giving up the fight, sildenafil, it's about having a place to congregate should the forums go down which could potentially happen at any time. If we have somewhere to congregate when that happens then at least we'll have a leg to stand on. If the forums go down and we have nowhere to go, that's it, we're done.

I'm aware of the backup created by 'bitcoins' / 'RichieRich', but I will not be going there nor encouraging others to go there for reasons you are free to PM me to discuss.

Is this guy for real or what?

I don't think you realise the gravity of the situation, Happyman. We need a place to go to have any chance of rebuilding anything. I am attempting to put in place a backup system should these forums go down - if you disagree with that, that's fine.

I don't think you understand that the person that was paying for this server (if it's not in the control of LE) is not going to be paying for it soon.   There is a shelf life on this forum and we'll need a place to go eventually.

Lib - good call on that man, thanks.

And Cirrus is right.. please don't be delusional about these forums being up forever. Either whoever paid for them will stop, and ohyeah.. there's the small issue of that the same seizure notice posted on the forum main URL (I personally did NOT see it.. but multiple people seem to have seen it) and then it was taken down.

Please do not be delusional.. these forums are not only being watched by LE up the wazoo, but also probably compromised by them.

Does anybody know how long it takes for BMR to validate new accounts? I created a new account there yesterday and I guess it still hasn't been approved..

I don't think it took very long for me, a few hours at most, but that was Thursday afternoon and I don't know when their mods sleep. Logging in can take a few false starts. When I do I see an information message at the top of the screen about validation but I can still post.

Ah that's good, so I can tell 'em what I think:

you're all stupid idiots. Let us live our lives like we want to!
We don't harm anybody but (perhaps) ourselves!
So look for murders, paedophiles and terrorists and leave us alone!

Thanks Libertas & SSBD & Cirrus + whoever helps get the community back together.
I really wish someone would lend me 1.3BTC for Sheep or 1BTC for BMR, or even both.

Any takers? I will pay it back promptly + bonus.
