Title: f**king bitcoins
Post by: imaslut on June 13, 2012, 11:32 am
pleeeeeeeease can someone help me out
ive been wracking my brains all morning and after many swear words and fist bangs on the desk
ive been on a number of sites such as blizzcoin.com and intersango
  first of all intersango
it specifficly says to include the refernce code when doing a bank transfer, but theres no text box to put the reference code in? so im not going to be sending any money to them if im not 100% confident they will be able to go ahead and give me bitcoins
 secondly the blizzcoin site
i put in all the details, wallet address, amount, country and what not.
but thats all i can do, there is no enter button, no process link. nothing?
so i can put details in but thats it

pleeeeeeeeease can someone help me out, its sooo very frustrating
a link to a straight forward bitcoin site
i would like to pay with visa electron if possible
im not going to post any cash or anything of the like

I sure hope that visa your planning on using doesn't point back to you...

I know this may useless now as issue already resolved, but when you're making a bank transfer from your online bank account to Intersango to buy bitcoins you choose "Pay Bill" and not "Pay Family Member / Friend etc).

You need to initiate a bill payment, and that's where you'll have the option to enter a reference. In my experience this is a quicker way to send money to people as well.  I can get from money in bank account to spending on here bitcoins in 20 mins assuming everything works ok.

Hi Imaslut,

I messaged you a couple of hours ago.

I doubt very much you'll find a site that lets you order by card. Bitcoins transactions are irreversible but card transactions are not.

You really do seem to be struggling and I'm sorry you don't want to use my service to obtain your Bitcoins safely. I realise you think this is safer but it's actually riskier using traceable methods to buy BTC.

Nevertheless you're a fellow Brit and I'd be happy to help you use Intersango or MtGox. When you say there's nowhere to put your reference code do you mean on your own Internet banking? Who do you bank with?

Thanks,

V.

imaslut,

Forget using your card and bank account mate. Not a good plan. Serious, I have used Vlad's exchange service a few times...take a look through his posts, you aint gonna get ripped off.

I was skeptical, I mean who wouldn't be, sending cash to someone you have never met through the post, but hey at the end of the day you don't know what you are buying or who from off SR...you go via their feedback as a trust thing. Look through Vlads forum feedbacks from various people.

Its the safest most anonymous way of obtaining BTC in the UK as far as i am concerned.

Good thing is--you're here in the forums reading and asking questions. Next thing is--ask a respected forum resident like Lim or any one of the countless old-timers you see in the message threads. Ask them if they can recommend an SR coin exchanger--you'll get your coins faster, and without providing ID. To anyone. I think you're in the UK, so they're probably going to tell you go see Vlad. Go see him, get some coins, go shopping.

Good luck!

Hey! Thanks!
And I’ve asked this before:
How does one go about discovering the source of negative karma cast upon your account? Way back before we made even our first trade, someone was hating on us. Who in the hell does that? Likes to play with negative energy? I know that BTC exchangers range just above LE when it comes to respect and all here on the Road, but that one surprised me. Maybe the two of us can do something about that, over time.

Hi buddy,

Yes I saw that I'd received one myself yesterday although I can't imagine why as I was actually agreeing with everything that everyone else was saying - so much for not standing out in the crowd!

There is no way to tell who has awarded you negative karma so I have learned to roll with the punches on this. Sometimes it's down to jealousy or people just not agreeing with you, sometimes it's because a user is deliberately trolling or making otherwise offensive comments. The etiquette of the thing is that you're meant to tell someone you gave them negative karma apparently and your reasons for doing so ; for my own part I don't give out negative karma for anyone. It's only happened once so far that a user's comments have made me feel uncomfortable (they were asking about using Bitcoins as ransom money to kidnap a child) and I simply said so.

Having said this I suppose it's a good system overall as it lets newer users see how much kudos you have. It would be nice if it were a single score which would go up or down but there you go...

I used bitcoinnordic.com and can recommend them. They charge an additional 10% on top of the realtime mtgox.com burse. They seem a lot more flexible than mtgox, for example you can mail them cash (mail as in snailmail).

I see they accept Scandanavian credit cards too.. my worry about such a centralised exchange is it would be very easy to locate and compel them to turn over their records. Of course this could just be sour grapes from me as I sell Bitcoins to people for cash in the mail in Scandanavia too so I'd appreciate everyone else's opinion!

used them a couple of times. They stopped all transfers with creditcards. but still offer bank wire transfer and Westereunion. But still they only offer there service for norway, sweden and danmark.
