Title: Strange Site Behavior this morning
Post by: FenderGuitarMan on June 07, 2012, 11:19 am
I logged on this morning and all the emails I replied to last night were back as unread. But even worse, there was a listing that I know really belongs to RxKing, but it showed Hatter26 as the seller and had the WRONG picture. I have a screen shot. This makes me really nervous about placing orders today. Then I read that some people seem to be missing funds! WTF? Does this happen often? I'm in web software biz so I know about shit like this but it's always scary when it happens on an ecommerce site! I can upload the pic of the messed up offer page if you'd like. It was highlighted right on the Welcome to SR page and I clicked on it from there.

It certainly is concerning, although I wasn't really worried until someone brought up the malicious intent angle, I have since moved coins off site that I know shouldn't be in someone else's wallet until further notice, although I guess I can't be sure that they are the SAME coins....

we shall see but i have faith in DPR

yeah there was some kind of a total site-wide database rollback, including with bitcoind database.  Message SR support and see what they are saying, let them know if you are missing funds, the amount of the transfer and rough timestamp and they should sort you out.

I am sure there is no cause for alarm - presumably if they back up their website regularly they'll have details of all pending orders and customer wallets.

I would feel a lot better if I had logged on here 6 hours later and seen messages saying it had all been taken care of! If anyone's interested here is the image of the front page offer that I saw. Everything is wrong about it. It's not the right vendor listed, there's no listing for that product with that price, and the image is of a completely different product. Scary shit indeed! I've been in the software business 20+ years and web-oriented for 15+ so I certainly know all the stuff that can go wrong. Just hoping this isn't a hacker attack and is just some kind of site restoration nightmare.

There's another thread like this one, but notice all the senior members or people who have been here for a while (or since the road started) aren't too worried about it? just eat a xanax or whatever your thing is and chill out.  it'll be alright. If you'd been here since the beginning you'd realize that this stuff is nothing compared to some of the problems we had before.  and moving to the new URL without a heads up before the change was pretty nerve shattering for me, but everything worked out before, it will now and in the future.

if, God forbid, it doesn't: how would you be any worse off than you were before you knew about the SR?  You can't tell me you thought SR was gonna last forever.  I sure hope it does, but lets be realistic.  Even the mafia didn't last forever.  Well, i guess the mafia is still around but they aren't nearly what they used to be.  you get what i'm saying.

Although I am certain that the issues will be resolved, a little message from the admin side would have been welcome :)

It would at least stop the rumor-machine  8)

Well nothing has happened in my account although i made some deposits and transactions yesterday (the day of the rollback) including orders. But nevertheless i think an announcement about what happened will be Relieving to the whole community.

Not yet. It seems to be back in normal mode but BTC still isn't coming through. I guess they're working on it though.
