i done a format and fresh install of win xp on my laptop and after reinstalling everything i only had tor left to install, so i went to tor.org and got this message :o
INVALID SERVER CERTIFICATE
you attempted to reach //www.torproject.org but the server presented an invalid certificate.
you cannot proceed because the website operator has requested heightened security for this domain
lucky i have a back up on a CD. is this the end of freely being able to get tor?

The correct URL would be torproject.org, and the site works just fine for me.
-
yeah i was using that url, just couldnt be bothered to type it all, so that must mean its got something to do with my laptop,
-
Are you using the Tor Browser?
-
yeah i got chrome configured to use tor, i sorted it now though my network places, just took it off main pc, and just tried it again on same machine and it comes up now that ive restarted tor, maybe i just picked up a doggy certificate or something? :)

Chrome configured to use Tor does not equal Tor Browser, and it is not recommended by the Tor Project. But I'm sure you knew about all this already.

yeah i know, i use the tor bundle for silkroad and forum, with there firefox browser, i use internet explorer for personal stuff, and chrome is just for downloading movies and music ect.... but thanks for advice

If you are getting an unexplained ssl certificate error check that your date, time and timezone settings are correct.
