anyone able to help me on this please, i'm doing something orng and cant figure out what it is.
to be able to make a working bootable usb i must use unebootin or penlinuxdrive and upload the iso to it and then select my usb.From there it should install and finish. then i should be able to reboot and select usb in bios and boot from there.
so why when i do this with 3 different usbs trying dban will it not boot up yet my liberte linux usb boots up fine?
what i am missing peeps?.

I don't know, but the fact DBAN is about a 100 years old probably has something to do with it. I've had problems running it on a few machines before. I suggest you use SecureErase instead, it's faster and probably better.
If you want to nuke the HD completely, do a FDE with an arbitrarily long random password and then use SecureErase on it afterwards.

There is a bunch of utilities out there that will allow you to use Secure Erase properly e.g. using it from a live-cd, there is a couple of different ways of using it.
