"Hope" is the thing with feathers

"Hope" is the thing with feathers—
That perches in the soul—
And sings the tune without the words—
And never stops—at all—

And sweetest—in the Gale—is heard—
And sore must be the storm—
That could abash the little Bird
That kept so many warm—

I've heard it in the chillest land—
And on the strangest Sea—
Yet, never, in Extremity,
It asked a crumb—of Me.

On a less uplifting note, Hope is what the US had when it elected Obama to replace Bush. Then Hope died when the US realized that Obama works for the same guys Bush worked for.

Damn, I hate it when that happens...

Sandman: I am a world, space-floating, life nurturing.
Choronzon: (but) I am a nova, all-exploding ...Planet cremating.
Sandman: I am the Universe --all things encompassing, all life embracing.
Choronzon: I am anti-life, the beast of judgement. I am the dark at the end of everything. The end of universes, gods, worlds... ... of everything. SSS. And what will you be then, dreamlord?
Sandman: I am hope.

Hope is a delusion.

It is only when you realize you are in total control of your actions and the consequences thereof, this truth will become clear.

If you hope for a certain favorable outcome of a certain action, you failed to plan adequately and are instead relying upon things outside of your control.

A delusion

People fell for the Obama Hope delusion, because they expected a good outcome based on the actions of someone else. If you take care of yourself, are self reliant, with a multitude of (self taught) skills, there is no need for hope. I fell for Obama, and I took it as a learning experience.

A child hopes Santa Claus will bring them the newest hottest toy. The U.S. fell for a childish delusion that someone will come along and make things better for them.

A virtuous person laughs at those who Hope

Although i believe everybody needs to realize they're in control that doesn't change the fact that there are thousands of fairly intelligent people with similar views. (this made up number continues to grows everyday)

It seems that Hope is paraded around as the opposite of Fear, and it is a good opposite; however I can't help but feel Hope is more illusive and tricky than that, and that Hope and Fear are actually entwined, part of the same whole.
