The Wealth of Nations by Adam Smith, the founder of Capitalism.

Just read the first 50 pages, and you'll see the world differently. It just makes perfect sense! The second half of the first volume tends to be only applicable to hundreds of years ago, but the first part is as relevant today as it always was.

1984 by George Orwell.

If you read both those books, pine promises mind = blown moments. These men changed the world. When people like Barrack Obama and George Bush are long dead, these men shall still be quoted. Their works are not difficult to read, too many people are intimidated by them, but I assure everybody they are a fantastic read.

I also recommend: "A Lodging of Wayfaring Men".

It predicted the Silk Road before it existed. Hey, what more do you want? :)

Pretty sure all these books are freely available online.

Must investigate Bungee's other recommendations...

1984 by George Orwell.

My favorite book for sure.

"If you want a vision of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face... forever."

I'm scared that with the way the world's economy is running, and with the way governments are amassing power, that we're not so far off from the grab for power "from the capitalists" that is described 1984.
