I'm just curious as to how everyone came to find out about this wonderful site. For me, I saw an obscure reference in a comment on Reddit, did a little research, and wound up here.

I knew about the site for a year before going onto it and actually utilizing it...never needed to until I wanted to dabble with psychedelics and no local connects...

for months i was just dreaming that there could be a site where ppl could buy from a catalog of options, straight up no bullshit..where sellers were concerned with their reputation, rather than ripping folks off, and where the seller could judge the buyer on the fact that they always have their money right, dont be askin for 10 bucks off, dont be tryin to trade some stolen shit......then i saw on twitter someone referring to a silk road article and i read it and thought NO WAY!!! so i researched it, downloaded tor bundle, and bam i was cookin! i read the forums carefully as i could and finally bought some bitcoins at cvs, with no problem, and i was a buyer....UNBELIEVABLE..so freakin cool!!!!!!!

Was talking to a friend on Skype and he mentioned this website where you can get any drug you want and 20 min later I had my account set up and BTC on their way into it. 3K and 8 months later I have no regrets

A friend of mine follows reddit.
he had read an article about SR a while ago, and then showed me a blog on gwern.net
15 days later, after a lot of research on Tor / PGP / liberte / anonymity / bitcoins etc, i finally had the knowledge i needed to do this right!
one of the most enjoyable learning experiences for me.
Currently waiting for my first order to arrive!!!

A: joining PGP Club.

Where I live those who manufacture don't give a shit about what they put in shit. ESP Molly. There is none around and what people do take makes for a fucking unenjoyable time. I wanted the good old days I.e. 4 years ago. Fingers crossed this works out - looks promising so far with people like Lim, Symbiosis and Pine putting in all the hard work to produce honorable goods.

My friend's doctor wouldn't prescribe xanax even though she had stage 4 ovarian cancer and was essentially just trying to be comfortable before she died (it had metastasized all over her body). Also wouldn't prescribe weed. I came across a frantic post from someone who "lost the link to the hidden wiki" on some random forum post while I was trying to buy it for her online. :-[

I meant as in I had created an account and started moving money to get my btc without Uncle Sam watching of course. And PGP is my best friend except when I misplace the paper with my code to decrypt it since you never should save that on your computer ;)

Total happenstance. I was researching "street price" on Google for certain Rx's I have available, stayed up all night reading BS superficial websites. At some point and some link, (couldn't tell u where I found it) I came across a post regarding an apparent seller on SR. The post reply was simply stating that "seller" was verified on SR and therefore could be trusted. Continued research, downloaded Tor, found SR and BMR (only found BMR in a thread response to some dude attempting to sell w/o proper seller account credentials, lol).
At any rate, I have been looking for sites like this for some time. Thrilled 2 be here. Much 2 offer and much 2 learn :)

I knew about freenet and darknet, was around like 1/2 years ago but didint knew about sr, After 1/2 years something happend some how and i got my ass into sr :D

When I look back, I find it funny that I actually used TOR for a brief time years ago but decided not to continue using it because of how slow it was. Still to this day, I honestly don't know how I came to discover this website. I think I read something about the "deep web" one night when I was stoned that eventually led me to this site. Prior to using this site, I never heard anything about it. I listen to NPR and go on their website frequently, but I never knew they had a report on SR.
On a different note, thanks to SR, I take my online privacy much more seriously.

I was at my local library and on the way out the door I picked up a few copies of rolling stone magazine that someone had donated and are free to take. I rarely ever pay any attention to this mag anymore but I thought maybe I would be turned on to some new artists. In the process of scanning thru (nothing of much interest) at the back of one of the issues there was this very brief mention of a website called SilkRoad. Funny how such small things can lead to such amazing possibilities.

Kept on trying to get Mdma but was always sold bunk pretending to be mdma IRL. Went to the subreddit /r/mdma and low and behold on the sidebar directions pointed on how to get Mdma through an onion :)

i'd played around with tor in the past purely out of interest in cryptoanarchy, but the main thing i heard it about it being used for back then was kiddie porn which turned me off to the whole idea, no pun intended. My brother had also mentioned something about SR probably near its beginning as he was quite active on some grower's forums and usenet groups. But it took an amature-ish journalistic attempt on gizmodo/lifehacker to pique my interest enough to keep reading around about it. I think in the end it was gwern's piece on it that made my mind up. He has some pretty provocative and compelling opinions. www.gwern.net
Although I suppose dropping out of the scene for about 5 years and losing all my connections but finally wanting a little somfin somfin had the most to do with it.

I first found out about Silk Road somehow, I can't remember.
I always have paper by my computer to write things down to then look up later. I was going through my papers and found "Silk Road" written on it. I am not sure if it meant this marketplace or the original silk road.. I probably wrote it about a year ago or more?
I also was on Topix reading something about how to get meds (benzos specifically, I have panic attacks) easily, how to find a doctor that will prescribe or find one online or something. Someone posted, "just use silk road," or something.. I feel like he shouldn't have mentioned it though.
Anyway, I really can't remember if I found the piece of paper first or read the Topix thing, they were very close together.. About 1-2 months ago.

Free Talk Live turned me on to the Silk Road and BitCoins. These sorts of things are very strong themes within the anarchist / voluntarist / libertarian movement. I highly recommend you guys list to Free Talk Live (podcasts are available) if you ever get a chance.

I heard someone talking about it a few years back, and didn't actually trust the source. Then I recently read about it incredulously in the Globe and Mail, went on a bit of a search for more information, and then wound up here with a big ol' smile on my face. Time to do my reading :)

Some cunt mixed acetone peroxide with my ketamine I got from a street dealer (well, a friend got it from the dealer and we split it between us). Burnt like shit because my friend was lighting a smoke and it was near enough that the stuff caught fire and nearly burnt my face off as I was doing a line which was close to his line (the one that fully caught fire, which then caused mine to spark up).
Never bought from a street dealer since.
