This is surely the most depressing thing I have seen you type :P
Pretending to be female is a great psychological tool to use online whenever you're in a position of power - men will typically argue less and give less grief if they think it's a woman, especially nerds/socially awkward computer types (which, considering how much more of a standard computer user you need to be to get here means it's probably a large percentage of the userbase) because even online they can't interact properly with women.
About something years ago, fuck if I remember, I used to do tech support for warez servers, and because I was so young at the time I'd get a lot of grief, so when I got a new server one time I pretended to be a 17yo girl - I tell you what, not only did I get a lot less grief but whenever I fucked up I've never had so many messages offering solutions instead of calling for my head (they just called for head instead).

I think the really important questions here are: have their cycles synched up yet? and what week of the month is it? (everyone's personal safety is a milestone of SR after all)

If there's some overwhelming advantage to having a female avatar, I must have missed it between all the misogynistic pine themed threads created and threatening/creepy PMs received. The only tangible advantage I can think of was gulling some people into learning PGP. I'd say the advantage of the latter was well and truly canceled out by the former. Pine doesn't tell you whether pine is a male or a female for extremely obvious reasons that ought to be well understood and appreciated by a forum of anonymous cyber criminals. I think I can tell you I am a mammal. Proud of belonging to the mammal kingdom, a friend to all the warm blooded furry animals I can think of. llamas, cats, otters, kangaroos and squirrels. I don't believe in a creator, but consider the platypus reasonable evidence for the argument on the other side. I mean that thing is very close to being too hilarious to be real. Hopefully, with either reincarnation or much more likely modern science's genetic engineering, pine will be able to come back and define oneself as a platypus. Now you know the truth. There's more interesting things to be than a female or a male. You could be a platypus.

But really, I read the whole thread and does not a single person know that "she" is used when a group needs to be addressed?(or an inanimate thing is addressed) Like: She's going to blow!( A bomb is just about to go off) It's just to avoid loopholes, or to save time/space :P "One" could be also used. :)
