Title: ebooks compromise security???

Hey new to this whole thing and I was thinking wouldn't ebooks compromise security because you have to download them??? Am I right/wrong? Sorry if this is a noob question but like i said i am a noob lol

Yes . Your internet connection is routed through Tor so your IP(computer adress) is never revealed.

Ebooks often are in .pdf file format which itself can contain exploit code to exploit Adobe reader and/or another pdf reader. Downloading ebooks therefore is not a good idea. Scanning with AV is also useless as it costs malware makers only a few $ to make it undetected for antivirus.
 Only download files from trusted sources.

You need to setup a virtual machine or better yet a live CD/USB with no physical net connection (airgap) and pop your ebooks into that. Then it doesn't matter how much malware there is on it.

This makes me realize how lax I have been on  my security.  I need to start cracking down on this shit.

Ive noticed people selling access to vpns before, don't have to explain why thats a bad idea.
