Not sure if I should post here of in the 'Off Topic' forums but here goes.
I'm planning on buying some cookies on SR and I want to pack them in my checked luggage for my vacation next week in Florida. (It's a domestic flight).
I was thinking about putting the cookies in a Chips Ahoy container or something similar and sealing it back up, putting it in a large zip lock bag, and putting it in between all my clothes.
What are everyone's opinions about this?
EDIT: I would also put some other inconspicuous snack items in between my clothes like Cheez Its, and granola bars.

I wouldn't walk into an airport with so such as a nanogram of contraband on me on general principal.
Just mail the cookies to yourself.

This has been my personal experience... you gotta make your own decision for yourself.
I have taken domestic flights carrying ~1/4oz of weed about a dozen times. I seal it up and put it inside a pants pocket somewhere in the middle of my checked bag. Never an issue. I don't feel like I am taking much of a risk, though I could be running on a shit load of luck, who knows.
One time, I opened my duffel and right on top was a notice from TSA that they had inspected the contents of my bag. We are keeping you safe, thanks for your cooperation, etc, etc. Didn't look like anything had been disturbed, clothes all still folded, weed still intact.

Just stick those cookies in a ziplock bag a carry em on the plane... nothing suspicious about that. Or even just sticking em in your luggage.
What does look suspicious is trying to hide them or cover up the fact you have cookies... its just a snack

Oh don't worry, I'm definitely eating one before my flight. Unfortunately I would like to bring 6 more down with me.
I guess my main concern is drug dogs because even if a TSA agent randomly searches my bag they won't tamper with my snack foods (at least I don't think).

I would suggest avoiding "on your person" if you're going to be flying through an airport which has any of the new full-body scanners. The package in your pocket won't look like a bomb, obviously, but it will appear as an anomaly during the scan, at which point they may do an additional pat-down or at least ask you to empty your pockets. And you certainly don't want to be getting one of the full-body pat-downs / trace chemical scans that you'd be getting if you choose to opt-out of the body scanner. Supposedly those machines are only looking for explosives residue, but I sure as hell wouldn't want to test that theory out.
Carry-on luggage is a safer bet - all you have to worry about is the X-ray machine, and a cookie going through the X-ray machine just looks like a cookie.

I'm no dogs expert, but I would assume every dog would sniff at a cookie if it got the chance.
I would not be nervous AT ALL about carrying around drug cookies.

Must Say . . . It depends how good the person was at making said edibles. I know somebody who was busted by a dog with several weed brownies - each one was weighed separately and counted as its own felony possession charge :-/
I think that probably wouldn't be a problem with someone who is good at filtering their stuff but the police broke open all my buddy's brownies and found a tiny bit of leaf in one of them and he went to jail :(
So . . . Again, it's a risk/reward ratio and principles of rational calculus apply. You know it's risky already, though, right? If you didn't, you wouldn't have asked;)

Drug Dog is not a Normal Dog. They are trained to response in certain ways to give the handler information about drugs. I would never underestimate them. I think a pearly white clean record is more important to the denizens of the Silk Road than anything else.
Shipping a handful of cookies though the post is so much safer it's ridiculous to compare the two.
You know a guy got locked away in Saudi Arabia for having a milligram of weed on his person on the sole of his shoe? Another fellow got locked up for eating a bagel in Heathrow Airport in England that happened to have a certain type of seed. He flew over and then got 'intercepted' for having a goddamn bagel seed on his person. Illicit drug distribution they said. Google it, I'm not joking.
You couldn't make it up. And if you go to India and happen to have some weed, but haven't smoked it, then they will do a blood test on your person and if they don't find the drug they assume you are a drug dealer irrespective of the quantity. Bye bye civilization unless you are able to come up with the bribe. Similarly, if you have so much as a gram in a Singapore stop and they do a search of the plane, then you are going to hang. Every so often they get an Australian and the Aussie Government, never fond of drug smugglers, still bitches to high heaven and the Singaporean Government completely ignore them each and every time. I hear they don't so much as return calls.
Protip: If you're flying with drugs, fly in the West like your life was depending on it, since actually it is.

Just to clarify for everyone, the two options I am considering are 1) put cookies in checked luggage, or 2) carry on cookies in my backpack. I would put the cookies in a chips ahoy container in both instances, along with some other snack foods. At no point do I plan to have the cookies in my pocket or anywhere "on" me.
I'd say I'm a frequent flyer and I am very familiar with my local airport's security and setup. Just for reference, my airport is relatively small (~50 gates total). I have never seen a drug dog at my airport. We do, however, have the full body scanners and I have been put in those before (never with a bag of course, which is where the cookies will be).
After hearing everyone's responses, I am leaning towards just putting them in my carry on. Thanks everyone!
