I live in a town near NYC, and I had wanted to get some pills from SilkRoad, but I'm afraid if I order I'll be v& ad arrested? How safe are your orders usually? How do they bypass UPS and shit?

Read the wiki, do some searching, and don't clutter the boards with things that have been addressed already and you'll get along fine.

Firstly; basically if you buy from a respected seller who is domestic to your country (look through all their feedback and search through this forum for a thread on them) then getting caught with a couple of grams e.g. < 7g of something is extremely unlikely. 99.999% kind of unlikely.
Secondly, even if you do get caught out with a few grams, it's highly unlikely in most countries you'll get more than a caution. The Man is not out looking for buyers, they look for sellers (unless you're buying stupid amounts of coke e.g. a pound or more).
Thirdly, it is possible to create setups which allow you a lot of anonymity in picking up packages. I posted a thread on this a couple of hours ago with some techniques.
Remember the fundamental principal of counting in probability theory.
If I there is 1 in a 100 chance of your package being discovered (and I seriously doubt it's that high), and there's 1 in a 100 chance of getting caught out with your anonymity setup, then there's a 1 in 10,000 chance that you'll be associated in any way with a package.
Math...
Even with that 1 in 10,000 chance of getting caught, like I said before, it doesn't mean you'll be thrown into prison or something. More likely a rap on the knuckles and visit your local police station each day for two weeks to sign in or something similar.
The math is completely stacked against LEO as long as you take simple, appropriate precautions and don't get lazy.

everyone gets nervous, but just look at the statistics and if you are buying from a reputable vendor then you shouldn't have anything to worry about, i had a non-SR related incident where 3.5g of weed was seized and i just got a letter stating that it had been seized. basically it was just a warning, they also put in a book that contained information about prohibited items haha.
