Do you mean people who work hard, go to church, get married, have children, donate money to causes (domestic & foreign), help you out if you need a hand or are lost..? Or are you talking about the California movie version of a section of Americans that Hollywood & New York liberals portray to the world? I lived in the South and found the people to be extremely warm and hospitable. Yes they were more conservative in some ways than me, but in other ways they were more wild and fun-loving! Yes. young Europeans are fed enormous amounts of what is essentially the most extraordinarily vitriolic propaganda and it all passes by as gospel. They think of Micheal Moore in the same way most people think of Carl Sagan. There is a whole lot of cognitive dissonance going on in Europe, the current generation basically are of the sophisticated opinion that Democrats are the Good Guys and Republicans are the Evil Ones. They... don't really know a whole lot of history, by which I mean any history at all to put current politics in any sort of context. It is not true that Europeans are more historically aware than Americans. Actually they're about as dumb as each other on that score I ain't going to dish out any compliments there.Southerners are among some of the finest people I know. There should be an exchange program to prove y'all not cannibal hillbillies though, because I think that's pretty much what it'd take to change perspectives :DIt is true that the war in Iraq and Afghanistan has permanently damaged the Republican party in the eyes of Europeans. Their view of the GOP isn't too far off David Icke's interpretation of our world leaders. I once showed a Ron Paul video to a European friend and he declared he couldn't understand why Ron Paul wasn't a Democrat. This is a true story.
