Quote from: HoodooVoodoo on October 04, 2012, 11:19 amI think I may have got the sending using a public key (in this case Pine's) down. One thing that still really confuses me - In the case that, say, Pine wished to reply to me in the same manner, I will need to send him my public key. Is this done by 'signing' a message? This is the bit I don't really get... anyhow....-----BEGIN PGP MESSAGE-----Version: GnuPG v2.0.17 (MingW32)Let me know if I've done it correctly!! Thanks heaps to everyone who has contributed in this. Really great to see people are willing to help others out.Hello!I was able to decrypt your message without difficulties. So this means you're 50% of the way to becoming a full PGP Club member. What I need from you now is your public key. Signing and verification have little or nothing to do with exchanging public keys, which is something we do mostly so we can encrypt messages to each other. As an analog, think of your public key and mine, as being like cellphone numbers. You need to exchange them with your friend in order to communicate back and forth. Similarly, you require public keys to be swopped if you want to exchange encrypted communications. So, what you need to do now is send me your public key.
