This has been a very trying few weeks, and I for one am really happy to see that there is a chance for some continuity. I'm happy that there is a core of people who have been working to calm things down and keep things on an even keel. Thanks. To those who want to obsess about who used to be who and nit-pick about who said what in this or that post, I say this: relax and let things play out... We shouldn't even want to know who might be related to which past account. Things are what they are at this moment, and there are a LOT of people who want this to work and are willing to put their life and safety on the line to make it so. Thanks and credit to them. As far as I'm aware, no one has lost money on SR2, and no one has been arrested for SR2 activity. I have no clue who DPR2 was or is, or how Defcon, DoctorClu, ChemCat, et.al. obtained the information they have put out on these forums. There are a decent number of FACTS that are known to all, and on top of that there is a whole mass of speculation and fud.
We all know that LE knows about and participates in this forum and on the Road. So what? As a buyer, if I practice good opsec, then I have minimal exposure to risk. I pgp everything and only deal with vendors I think I can trust. Obviously, major vendors, and especially moderators and admins have be much more serious about their security. I trust them to do that, and if they don't, then they will be the ones to pay the price.
I salute our fallen comrades and I welcome our new leaders.
