I am rooting for this new DPR and SR as much as possible, but I have my doubts. The federal government really seems out to get us this time. I hope this current DPR is as smart as the previous ones(excluding the last one). I'm gonna wait a month or two before making any purchases just to be sure this isn't a honeypot operation. Does anyone think this operation will be a failure? I hope not

depends on ur definition of success
im pretty sure if site like sheep market can have success then a new sr should be nothing short of greatness
assuming that they learn from mistakes i dont see why it wouldnt work
the new sr will be better than ever
know ur rights and you never have to worry about government

We don't have a choice. We MUST support this. Remember there were millions of users on silkroad and thousands of vendors. How many vendors have been arrested? 10? 11? I agree that this is 10 or 11 too many, but we will never win in our fight against tierney unless we support this project. I don't want to go to jail, I value my freedom, but I do not negotiate my values at the barrel of a gun.

Optimism my friends! There is no reason why this should be any less successful than the old road and many more reasons why it should be even more successful. I have a great amount of faith in this project and the individuals behind it.

Huh? LMFAO @ "as smart as the previous ones(excluding the last one)!" I haven't made up my mind about whether or not DPR was a single person or whether he was a composite.

And I think the federal government is interested in pursuing ALL illegal, black-market purchases that occur online and shuttering as many illegal businesses that operate online as possible (at least those as large as SR was -- SR itself is illegal regardless of what it sold -- i.e. tax evasion, licensing, illegal/counterfeit wares sold alongside legal wares, circumventing customs/import/export regulations, etc., etc.). People think SR was a legitimate business because it sold many legal thing; but, the fact is, the entire marketplace was illegal in the US.

I REFUSE to use language like "really out to get us" when discussing federal LE. That language screams paranoia/conspiracy, when in fact this is standard operating procedure for LE.

Fool! Mr.X Empires incorporated has already developed a device that completely erases your IP address, instead of simply disguising it. Even if this information is true, I will continue to use Silk Road in spite of the governments attempt to stop us. They can't arrest us all!

Id assume that with the new management (DPR) they are completely aware of the risk they are taking and would be taking every precaution to leave no trace of the identities. With the Ulbricht still sitting in a cell I dont think a new DPR would be ready to step up if they were not sure in what they were doing was safe.
I can see that FBI and LE will be hunting but if they have no leads to folllow they wont find shit and this community will prosper. Its us the people vs them the oppressors so we have to succeed.

It will be succesfull, yes. I do think though it will take some time to build up the rep that the 'OG' Silk Road had as any new users may be concerned for their personal safety when it comes to LE.
