so i logged into tails, and it seems like the left click is right click, and right click is left... but when i right click, i'm unable to highlight text to paste/copy. does anyone know how, without a mouse, i can copy/paste text?

Try setting your mouse preferences by doing the following:
Syatem --> Preferences --> Mouse
The problem is, touchpads can be tricky -- they're not always fully supported.

thanks.. tried that but it doesn't work. i still can't highlight text. i can copy and all, but it just won't highlight all of the text. i can only get 1 line at a time.. eh, might mean i'll have to use a mouse.
when i click, i can't highlight the text.. i just get a dropdown menu.

If you want to highlight _everything_ try using Control-A -- that should do the trick. If it hightlights more than you want, you can just edit out the stuff you don't want, after you've copied & pasted.

i'm having problems cloning tails to my USB drive... it doesn't seem to work. i forget what it says afterward, but tails won't boot.
i'm trying to re-do it again (tried on 2 usb flash drives) but not sure what's really up with that. i already used my last dvd-r disc already too, so i can't download the copy and re-install it to CD again.

Can you find out what the error message is?

i tried installing on another dvd (luckily found one, since i thought i ran out). it worked now, so what happened before must have been an issue with the dvd.
also just tried running it on the desktop, and click and drag works.. so the problem on the laptop must be due to the synaptics touchpad not being compatible. kinda sucks, since i prefer to use it mainly on the laptop.
okay so for my next noob question.. i can't figure out how to get a .txt (or a file that has links to SR/SR forums) onto the USB drive, since when i stick it in.. my computer does not recognize it. i'm not even sure how i can format the USB drive if windows doesn't recognize it.
i was thinking about leaving it on the hard drive, and accessing it via tails.. but the problem is that it asks for a password? sorry, this linxus/tails o/s is a foreign thing to me. i've never used it until now.
