November will mark our 1st anniversary on SR, and we are be holding a month long anniversary event. Everyone who makes a purchase for the month of November will have their transaction number entered into our giveaway draw. Each transaction will be assigned a number in the order it is received. The first transaction hex code will be number 1, the second transaction hex will be number 2 and so forth. At the end of the month we'll have numbers 1 through whatever the order count is. We'll have a mod randomly select a number between 1 the order count value. Then we'll match up the number chosen by the mod with the corresponding transaction number. Whom ever made the correlated transaction will be awarded 250 BTC on Dec. 1.
Only the transaction number and the associated draw number will be tracked for the month, no other buyer info will be kept, including the SR buyer name, and everything will be wiped once the results are announced. If the winning number is still in escrow, we can figure out who the buyer is and the funds can be transferred to them. If the buyer has finalized, we will contact SR Support to find out the winning buyer name. Only the winning transaction number and buyer will be announced, all other info will be kept private, including the associated draw numbers for security and integrity purposes.
I know there have been many issues over the past year with top vendors doing some big event and then scamming the buyer community. This is in no way our intention and we're taking all possible steps to reassure the buyer community that this is not our plan. We have expanded our team so as to manage the anticipated order influx, stay on top of order shipments and head off the potential repercussions of an increase in sudden delivery delays (selective scamming accusations, etc) . Because many such scams have been proceeded by an FE requirement from the vendor we have stockpiled ahead of time as best as we can. As such, there will be FE requirement in order to be entered into the draw and we will be leaving our current FE policy in place, unchanged. Established buyers (10+ transaction, <10% refunds/auto-finalize) will not be required to finalize early, unknown buyers (<10 transactions, >10% refunds/auto-finalize will still need to as per the terms of our current policy. We will still be requesting that established buyers who have dealt with us in the past, and feel comfortable doing so, finalize early as those funds help us restock when necessary and source supplies for shipping. When you place an order, you will receive a message indicating whether FE is required or if it is requested. If FE is requested, it's up to you whether you finalize or not, the choice is yours and you will be in the draw regardless.
We have been in touch with Dread Pirate Roberts to ensure that the information we will be storing until the contest ends is not in violation of SR policy. Additionally, he has agreed to hold on to the 250 BitCoins in the SR hedge fund so as to ensure their value at the end of the month. Those funds were transferred a few moments ago, and locked in at around $10.84 per bitcoin or the equivalent of about $2700 USD!
Every order from every buyer will be entered. If you make multiple purchases at once or throughout the month, you will be entered multiple times and one luck buyer will have something a little early for Christmas this year.

That's a lot of money!! Hmmmm.....what would motivate someone to give away that much money-----because of 1 year on the Road. My logic does not register that as being sound enough to lottery out 27bills. Got to think this through when not so high.

Why not do it? Other vendors have draws, lotteries and giveaways, we thought we'd do the same. Having a 10% off sale or something of the sort would be an absolute nightmare to have to go through and update all of our listings and then change them back again, and doing a 10% bonus for all orders is a hassle trying to add an extra .1 to a 1g order, or worse, .025g on a .25g order. So we figured we'd do a giveaway draw. Initially we thought of running it for our anniversary weekend, but then thought, why not run it for the entire month? Of course, if it runs for the entire month, we'd have to give away a larger amount.
As it is now, we process 30+ orders per day, and that's been steadily increasing the last 3 or 4 months by a significant amount each month. Given our current growth and the anticipated increase we expect from the draw, 250 BTC seemed a reasonable amount.

I think its a great business tactic, its only $2700 that aint a huge amount really, all you gotta hope for is that a giveaway like that will/should generate more than that in profits, it will also help to get new customers which will be more repeat business and more than likely the winner will spend some of his winnings with MIMM, I know if I won I could not be bothered trying to work out gettin the coins to cash, just spend them on a good New Years party.

Why not do it? Other vendors have draws, lotteries and giveaways, we thought we'd do the same. Having a 10% off sale or something of the sort would be an absolute nightmare to have to go through and update all of our listings and then change them back again, and doing a 10% bonus for all orders is a hassle trying to add an extra .1 to a 1g order, or worse, .025g on a .25g order. So we figured we'd do a giveaway draw. Initially we thought of running it for our anniversary weekend, but then thought, why not run it for the entire month? Of course, if it runs for the entire month, we'd have to give away a larger amount.
As it is now, we process 30+ orders per day, and that's been steadily increasing the last 3 or 4 months by a significant amount each month. Given our current growth and the anticipated increase we expect from the draw, 250 BTC seemed a reasonable amount.
I think this is very cool of you to do this MIMM... I've never even bought from you but now I would like too. RESPECT. Anyway, how does the gift code thing work? Is it possible to do a 10% off sale using a gift code?

Still need to get tracking info out, deal with some messages and start on the new orders that have come in since the site went back online, but everything is current up to today.
Also, WE ARE LOWERING OUR BUYER FE REQUIREMENT.
Previously we required users with less than 10 transactions and/or greater than 10% refunds/auto-finalize to finalize early. From now on, users with less than 5 transactions and/or greater than 10% refunds/auto-finalize will be required to Finalize Early. We will continue to request that buyers with 5 or more transactions finalize early, but it is only a request, it will not be required prior to shipping your purchases and you will be completely covered by the Resolution Center and our refund policy. If buyers do FE, either because they have fewer than 5 transactions or they choose to do so, they will still be covered by our refund policy. This applies to buyers worldwide, regardless of stats, FE requirements or buyer history.
We're also working on getting a few other products sourced and listed as well. Not many categories left, so I'll let you speculate.

Depends on your buyer stats. If you have less than 5 transaction on SR and/or greater than 10% auto-finalize/refund, then yes. If your stats are better than that, then no.

We are also reducing our FE requirement again, now down to 3 transactions. So this is absolutely brilliant. I log in to SR, check my messages, and see I've made two and a half grand. I'm really bloody happy with that. In addition to this, his Ketamine was the best I've ever had, and the customer service was exactly what one wants in a SR vendor: short, to the point, but very polite. He basically just sells a really good product, at a very decent price, which optimal packaging, and is easy to do business with. That's about as perfect as things can be.
