Ok, so i am just starting out on silk road. I just made my account yesterday, i have watched multiple friends of mine succesfully use this site and i would like to get where they are eventually i know it will take a while but i would really like to do it right. So i was wondering if anyone has any tips for me. I would like to get my rep up and become a trusted member and i was wondering how to go about that. i dont want to order anything quite yet but i would love to talk to people and get to know them. Also when i do start ordering i want to do it perfectly so i dont get fucked over. If you guys have any tips it would be awsome. thanks guys

The fact that you are not in a desperate hurry to make your first order is already an excellent move on your part.
You need to take your time and read, research and ask questions if there if is something you don't understand. Putting in some effort to research and understand what you are doing will go a long way. There is very little more irritating than someone setting up a new account, and demanding to be spoon-fed, so they can make a purchase in the next day or so.
Back in the day, it was not uncommon for people to lurk, research and read for a month (or even two) prior to making their first order. These days, you see far too many people setting up an account and wanting to order within the first 24-48 hours. They're not willing to invest any time or effort in learning the ropes -- if you're not like them, and take the time and effort to learn, you'll be way ahead.

Thank you man i appriciate it, do u possibly have any tips on how to get my rep up a little bit? does it only go up if ur buying and selling stuff?

Theres no real need to get your rep up really, if your main objective here is to buy. A lot of vendors will accept first time buyers, so long as you finalise in good time etc. Some vendors even avoid the forum completely.
For this forum, its a mix of a social club and a how-to/help database really. Contributing to either of those will propel you way ahead of the average forum member with 1-2 posts.

I agree, I for once don't check the forum very much at all but don't have a problem sending out to a newbie with escrow. having said that if you have no transaction history and then claim you didn't receive I will not refund anything. but if you are in here to buy and have a good service that should not concern you as you will receive the product, finalize and we'll all be going our merry way :)
