Title: Same username across sites?
Post by: SRtester on October 25, 2012, 09:55 pm
Is it safe to use the same username on all the sites (SR forums, SR itself, Tormail, etc.)

Or is it safer to use different usernames?

Thanks for any advice.

Some people have pointed out that it is a good idea to use two separate identifies, one for Silk Road, and the other for the Forum.  I think this is a good idea.
As for Tormail, you can have as many email accounts as you like.  You can setup one with your Silk Road ID, and the other with your Forum ID.

I have read the post about different usernames from forums to SR and there is some validity. If one was to use the same names for both,  a security risk does exist and I am always hesitant of putting anything in writing that could be used against me. To be known on both sites by your username has some advantages but I would caution you to actually read any information that you are posting on the forums and ask does this put any current or future  orders at risk.

separate names for all TOR services, including forum. And change them every few months.
