So it's been 10 day since I forgot my PIN and got the message to wait 7. I've messaged SR support twice and havnt gotten a reply or PIN reset. Should I wait longer or is something wrong with my account?
-
im in the same boat. i was about to make an order and it seems the password i had on file was invalid. I have been waiting 9 days and still no response either. it is really quite a disappointment as i am eager to make my first order.
-
it's a crowded boat...
woe is me
-
yeah, i realized just after i posted this that everyone else is having this same problem. might be a good idea to just use a new or other account and just use the money in the one that's locked for another time i guess.

i would do that but i want my transactions to count towards my main account :/

i just want my money so i can purchase whatever i deem fit. Im sure i had the right password written down and refuse to create a new account and invest more money. i am honestly doubting that the site is as legit as some forum members believe .the staff has no incentive to help us what so ever. i really hope i can unfreeze my bitcoins soon but its not looking good.

Another frustrated person here. Has anyone received a new PIN code recently? Seems there are a very worrying amount of people with money now stuck in SR, and with no response from support, and no way of recovering your coins, it is very suspect. It leads you to have to say that the reputation / trustworthiness of the site is called into question. I hope I'm wrong, but no one is getting any answers.

Yep, I'm having the same issue. It's been 10 days for me. No answer from SR support whatsoever.
-
Yeah I'm in the same boat....been 5 days and was pumped to make my first order and had a special event coming up....hopefully something happens soon :(
-
well the day after i vented on the forums i finally received a message telling me to log out and then log back in. all good right? nope tried it numerous times and was never prompted to reset my pin. the waiting game continues
-
Waiting already for 5 days and nothing happens. No response from the SR support. Does anyone know what's going on? thx
-
Does ANYONE have any good news of getting a new PIN successfully recently? I'm wondering whether to open a new account so as I can at least get my first order away, but not sure I can trust that something wont happen again...

Exactly that. I've been waiting a while too and I'd be willing to start another account so I can make an order; but like a lot of people I'm quite confident I had my PIN memorised correctly and I don't want the same to happen again if I try with a new account.
Would love an update from support with some estimated wait time. When the message said wait 3 days, I figured it was pretty much instantly reset when I messaged after that amount of time.

SR support takes a very long time to help. such as life ;p

Reading this doesn't give me much hope, I tried to make my first purchase last night and got my PIN "reset". I don't even recall making a PIN.
-
so finally my pin was reset today :D it was a long 15 days

If you don't recall being prompted to make a PIN, then you weren't paying attention. Silk Road is not responsible for your inattentiveness.

Forgetting one's PIN is one of the most common errors that people make here on Silk Road. If I had to hazard a guess, I'd estimate that somewhere between one-third and one-half of all support requests arise out of people forgetting their PINs. My PIN is saved (along with my password) in an encrypted password manager. It's a simple matter of copying and pasting when I have to use it.
In my view, the problem is that most people are in far too much of a hurry when they first arrive on Silk Road -- they are little short of desperate to make their first purchases. As a result, they don't take time to research how things should be done, despite the abundance of guides and helpful posts here on the forum. Many of the problems people experience on here could be avoided, if they would take the time to read, research, and just take it more slowly.

Without sending repeated messages (not sure if it made a difference) my PIN was reset after 8 days including the first 3 day wait.

Sorry Nightcrawler but I disagree. There are several people saying they store PIN / passwords in encrypted folders with the same result. I have been meticulous in planning my first purchase, and spent several hours a night for 2 weeks researching how this whole thing works. I was not asked for a PIN on the page I signed up on, which has me afraid it was a phishing site. (since changed my password) Don't say I was in a rush, or I didn't read it properly, because that is simply not the truth. There is obviously a problem with either support manpower or the PIN system. I understand the set up here, I'm not expecting 5 star customer service, and the extra layer of security is a good thing, but please don't write all people who have had problems off as goofballs who can't follow instructions or remember what day it is.
