When I try and decrypt messages it keeps saying clipboard contains no open pgp data. If I copy and paste it over and over (sometimes 10 times or more) it will eventually decrypt it. Why does it keep saying this, it's really frustrating and time consuming. Can anyone give me some guidance on what I'm doing wrong. Thanks.

You keep getting that error message because you keep copying and pasting incorrectly. When you copy an ascii-armored message, you have to ensure that all 5 dashes are present in both the beginning and end of the -----BEGIN PGP MESSAGE----- and -----END PGP MESSAGE----- message headers.
Try using Control-A to select all, then Control-C to copy. Using Control-A will copy the entire message, and should eliminate the problems with copying and pasting. If you're using a Mac, use Command-A and Command-C instead.

100% correct Nightcrawler. Top advice. +1 for all the help you've given to others in need. :)
