Yes, you can.  You have to scroll to the bottom of the page and select "remove this topic" (or something close to that).

Yes, you can. You're not allowed to delete the first post in a thread, but you can delete the whole thing.

Yes but I don't have any clue why so many people didn't know this.  The button has been there as long as I can remember.
