It's all in how you approach it. Don't tell anyone but Modziw has been known to help out a newb.

He has Provigil which is like a cup of coffee that lasts all day.

I think I have a link to his store here somewhere...

Oh, here it is:

Abuse-resistant OxyContin will be only version available: FDA
By Melissa Healy 6:44 AM PDT, April 17, 2013

Three years after it approved a version of the opioid analgesic OxyContin designed to discourage the painkiller's abuse, the Food and Drug Administration has effectively barred the original form of the drug from ever reaching the legal U.S. market. The agency says it will approve no new applications from generic drug manufacturers to produce cheaper versions of OxyContin in its original form.

OxyContin has been one of the nation's most abused prescription painkillers, in part because as those addicted to the potent drug built up tolerance for it, they could easily ground it up or dissolve it in water, making the potent extended-release drug easy to snort or inject for a faster, more intense high.

But in April of 2010, the FDA approved a reformulated version of the drug that was resistant to crushing, breaking, chewing or dissolving in water. The newer version is virtually unbreakable, and when dissolved in water, turns into a jelly-like mass.

The reformulated version was produced by the pharmaceutical maker Purdue Pharma, which originally brought the medication to the U.S. market in 1995. But in approving Purdue's reformulated version in 2010, the FDA simply called it "a step in the right direction." The agency withheld judgment on whether the new OxyContin constituted enough of an innovation to render the original version of the drug unmarketable.

As Purdue Pharma's exclusive patent rights to produce OxyContin in its original form approached its expiration date this year, generic pharmaceutical firms began eying the profitable prospect of seeking the FDA's approval to produce a low-cost version of the original OxyContin.

With Tuesday's announcement by the FDA, that won't happen, and Purdue Pharmaceuticals will have several more years of exclusive patent rights over its abuse-resistant formulation of OxyContin. That will likely keep high the cost of the prescription pain medication--now sold at retail pharmacies at between $5 and $8 per pill.

That decision came after Purdue Pharma presented the FDA with both laboratory and real-world studies of the reformulated OxyContin's abuse potential. "Purdue recognizes that abuse of prescription opioid analgesics is a persistent and significant public health problem," the company said in a statement released Tuesday. The company said it would continue to study the problem of OxyContin abuse and report its findings to the FDA.

"While both original and reformulated OxyContin are subject to abuse and misuse, the FDA has determined that reformulated OxyContin can be expected to make abuse by injection difficult and expected to reduce abuse by snorting compared to original OxyContin," said Dr. Douglas Throckmorton, deputy director for drug regulation in the FDA's Center for Drug Evaluation and Research.

OxyContin's reformulation has had a dark side: in a July 2012 letter to The New England Journal of Medicine, a group of researchers revealed that after OxyContin's reformulation, droves of people addicted to the painkiller but thwarted by the new formulation were turning to a more dangerous drug--heroin--a development likely to result in an uptick of overdoses and deaths.

******

Seems likely to remain available on SR from other countries. As usual, US government outlaws something and the only result is better availability and profits for the underworld. Calk another one up for the dark side...

Newbie discussion / Re: Vendor review: Modziw
« on: April 15, 2013, 02:57 am »
Since I am not active on the forums the new anti-spam system won't let me post in the main section, so I'll post here instead.

Just wanted to let everyone know that Modziw is the man! He has been doing business during the whole bitcoin crisis with absolute professionalism.

I placed a large roxy order with Mod during the crash and received my package 3 days later. He ended up taking a big loss on my transaction. He never complained about it, didn’t cancel the order, didn't ask me to FE, and still honored my transaction. What a great guy. I felt really bad though. I wish I had more bitcoins in my account to help him absorb some of the loss.

I hope OXY vendors on SR don't get wiped out by the current bitcoin situation. I only have two favorite Oxy vendors on SR and I hope they both survive the bitcoin crisis.

Thank you very much for your kind words. I look at bitcoins as part of the SR experience and if you are not willing to lose sometimes you shouldn't play the game. After all, sometimes the exchange goes in my favor as well.

I appreciate your business and I really appreciate you taking the time to write about your experiences with me.

I hope we do a lot more business together!

Thanks,

(:

If you really want to play and you can lose ALL that you play with, then buy $10K and hold that. Buy another $10K and trade that, like buy now and sell whenever you make 20%. Then buy back in after a drop of 20%.

Following up on the attack idea, here's what someone posted on another forum:

An insider email was leaked onto r/bitcoin a couple weeks ago. Basically a group of rogue traders on Tor organizes a planned DDOS of MtGox at a specific date and time - thus locking out everyone from creating new trades - while simultaneously creating a sell off over 4 hours. The fact that no new trades can be created combined with the price dropping precipitously causes a panic, which grows. At the height of the panic, they buy back in (because they are the ones controlling the DDOS, so they get to make the profitable trades). Everyone else loses their ass who reads the price manipulation as true market price and panics. More people need to understand this because no one is actually panicking at first; it's price manipulation through the DDOS dropping the price, not actual mass sell off. Still people just blindly look at the price of MtGox and don't consider this as a possibility even though it's happened frequently over the last few months. Information is power.

i wish i could give you +1 for this but im not quite there yet...

this is a valuable pice of information to know when working with bitcoin. im no computer genius but im assuming this means a virus was planted which made bitcoin drop. unless im reading this wrong which is a distinct possibility in my fucked up state...

thanks again

I'll give it to him for you.

Plausible explanation. Thanks astor +1.

Newbie discussion / Re: Using GPG

Half my people don't use pgp (or gpg)  when they order. I thin you should, but SR has some encryption built in as well.

The problem is af course if SR gets compromised.

Use PGP/GPG or privnote.com if you don't do pgp yet.

ALWAYS better safe than sorry.

Modzi

YOU ROCK! I had never heard of Privnote before - that's pretty damn slick. Are most senior users familiar with it? I ask because it is strictly a one-time view.

Thanks,

Privnote seems to be ubiquitous on SR.

Nah just kidding lol, just realized I can finally give karma out so anyone can have some free karma if they wish!
This is particularly useful if you are a douche bag due to the high negative ratio you will have- so feel free to post here and get free positive karma even if you are a douche bag.
Lets face it guys, douche bags need karma too and it keeps the place entertaining when there are some real pissy fuckers lurking around boards just ready to represent the assholes perspective. Keeps things realistic too because alot of dick headery goes on IRL too.
To those who think offering free karma to douche bags is vilifying their narrow minded opinions, yes, you are correct but they say the first step to change is accepting and confessing to your vices. So i'm hoping to see a few posts along the lines of:
"I have finally built up the courage to admit I am a douche bag" or
"I have been a closet dick head for a number of years, but my shitty wit and assholiness is really starting to annoy me"
But this is also for the good guys too! Have some karma on me, as I know first hand how difficult it can be being a good guy, eventually your goodness and al round empathetic heart starts to take its tole.
So hit me up guys- I will start out like a NA/CA/AA meeting.
"Hey, i'm Lifeis420 and im actually a comparatively good guy and as such want to help all the struggling douche bags with Karma. I realized my goodness was getting out of control after I began stealing to fund my charity donation addiction. At my worst I was donating over £50 a day to various good causes but thanks to the support from the group I have not donated to any charity for over one month! I intend to maintain this for as long as I can and im pleased to say that just for today, I can honestly say I have not given anything to any charity."

What an ahole you are!

Just kidding.

Give me Karma or I will become a douchebag.

This is karma blackmail, if you don't give me karma I will out dickhead the worst dickhead you have ever seen.

Give karma now, prevent future dickfulness, or else!

This is not charity, it is preventative. A karma prophylaxis if you will. Like slipping a condom on that dude before he rapes you. It's a good thing.

Karma. Now, bitch.

Fuck. I'm a die-hard American, willing to give my life for a better tomorrow, but I use drugs illegally. Help me be a patriot be legalizing drugs. I don't want the label of a criminal. The label sickens me, and I feel that the label in itself, encourages bad people to do bad things.

Huzzah!
