Customer support / Re: PROBLEM LOADING SILK ROAD - I'm New
« on: May 04, 2013, 01:49 pm »
Ah, I just needed help and I can't find any similar threads that have helped me at all.
I just would like to register.

The road is down for me right now. I can't access it either. When it comes back up you will see it. There are many difficulties right now.

Just bad timing on your part. Come back six months ago and everything will be fine for a few months.

Silk Road discussion / Re: 14 YO admits buying from Silk Road
« on: May 03, 2013, 02:27 pm »
Okay guys, I have a couple of thoughts and I probably know more about everything there is to know than all of you combined so listen up.

Firstly I agree with most of the comments about how stupid Mother is getting son into the system. Big mistake. But so is admitting to anything at all, EVER! (see my signature) However the acorn doesn't fall far from the tree so brightboy and Mom are accomplices to each other's fate.

The only circumstance where a parent can even think about turning in their kid is when the kid is so out of control and uncaring of the parent's rules and authority that the parent has literally given up and would eject the kid from the household except that's against the law due to the kid's youth. This kid respects authority enough to (foolishly) admit to his hobby and give details. Mom should have taken matters into her own hands and done what a parent should do - discipline him herself.

Which leads me to my next point. This "Mother" Fucker is upset because she is totally incapable of parenting. She abdicated her authority to the state out of shame for not being the parent she should have been all along. The bitch should have gone to jail FOR her kid before turning in her son. I want to slap this stupid bitch.

Now for the misogynistic part (that's right that last part wasn't it yet). Some of you wrote that you can't believe Mom's could do such a thing. Well I have news for you. There are a lot of women in general who would do the same thing to YOU, my friends. I am talking to both sexes here. Watch the fuck out for women. When Shakespeare wrote, "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned." He knew what he was talking about! If you are doing anything illegal, for God's sake do NOT let any women know about it. If you think you have a good one who is "cool" and "safe" just let her catch you licking the wet spot of her sister, daughter, mother, best friend or her roommate and you will quickly learn the meaning of blind rage, and you will be glad the men in blue are there to take you into protective custody.

Now you ladies who think I am a woman hater, look again, I am writing this gender neutral. You women loving women need to watch out too. Your girlfriends are just as dangerous. Furthermore, any male friends with a tendency toward bitchiness can be subject to the same cruel and heartless behavior when wronged. "Beware the bitches" You can quote me on that.

Ya'll feel me?

Security / Re: Tormail down?
« on: May 01, 2013, 12:18 pm »
I am done with tormail. As with DPR's statement regarding the recent DDOS attack on Silk Road, I'm glad to have experienced this inconvenient disruption of tormail service - it has forced me to strengthen my cryptography and anonymity practices.

Who runs tormail? Unknown. Thus prudence demands that you accept that 100% of emails may be accessible to law enforcement or whatever other worst case scenario entity your mind can come up with.

Why does this mystery party run tormail? Unknown. Thus you cannot assume they are protective of your communication, or respect your privacy.

What is happening with the recent outages? Unknown. Whoever runs tormail isn't keeping us in the loop. This is a major red flag, and unacceptable.

For those interested in an alternative, eff.org has written an article worth reading:

CLEARNET WARNING
https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2012/11/tutorial-how-create-anonymous-email-accounts
If you create that account (tormail) with bogus info, and only access it through the tor browser and you encrypt all sensitive email via PGP then would LE even be able to do anything useful with anything tormail servers would have anyway?

+1 for the attempt to help with the email tutorial. However, I would never use Hushmail. Find a smaller email provider or simply use PGP.

Green says that he and his fellow researchers are not interested in facilitating criminal activity with Zerocoin. "Zerocoin would give you this incredible privacy guarantee, then we could add on some features which let the police, for instance, to be able to track money laundering. A back door." The paper is due to be presented at the IEEE Symposium on Security & Privacy in Oakland, California, in May.

I think this sums up the thread nicely. On the other hand if it's open source then adopters could choose to only use the version without the back door.

Anonymity is helpful for bitcoins to take over the world, but just like a greenback bill's serial number it's traceable but mostly anonymous already.

Silk Road discussion / Re: under attack again
« on: April 29, 2013, 11:28 am »
UPDATE (04/29/2013 0715 UTC): Just want to let you all know I'm still here and we're still doing battle behind the scenes to get the forums and main site running again.  It is incredibly discouraging to have everything we've worked so hard for taken down by some anonymous and malevolent person, but your kind words of encouragement do wonders for our moral.  We are on the cutting edge of anonymity technology here.  The attacks being used against us MUST be overcome if Silk Road and any anonymous public sites are to have a future.  Thank you again for your patience with all of this, and pray that we make it through stronger than we started.

We are being attacked once more.  This time the forums are under attack as well.  Access is intermittent, so hopefully some of you can read this.  We are doing everything possible to overcome this latest attack.  Please be patient while we find a solution.

We have your back DPR. Anything you need, just ask.

Go get 'em, tiger!
