Will my weed be compressed?
Short answer, yes. Long answer, maybe. This question, more than any other, consumes more time than I can imagine.
I am selling/shipping marijuana, a bulk, voluminous good through the mail, disguised as mail documents or pieces of paper going through the mail. Compression is a byproduct of this activity.
Just how compressed your buds are is dependent on a number of factors, including quantity, shipping method and bud freshness. Sending a small quantity in the mail is much easier and less bulky than sending a larger amount. As the size of the order increases, so too does the amount of compression needed to discreetly send the buds. Bud freshness is also a factor. Fresh, juicy, sticky buds compress much more readily than older, drier buds. Finally, the shipping option selected will have an impact as well. Orders sent through standard post (max. 28g) or in an express envelope (max. 56g) are typical document sending methods and as such must be compressed accordingly to disguise the true contents. Orders sent in an express pack are sent in a larger delivery container, so compression can be avoided, yet the contents are still disguised.
I decided the best way to address this issue was to do a photo documentary of the buds before shipping and after shipping. I packed up several different amounts to correspond with my different shipping options and photographed the before and after results. Below are several shots of different amounts photographed before packing and again after having been sealed up for 17 days. Typical shipping times are not this long, but it gives a good idea of what you will receive.
