I travel with pot all the time. If you're going to pack some, make sure it's in your suitcase, not your carry on. Travelling domestically is easy as they never check your luggage. You just wheel your bag up to the luggage conveyor belt and away it goes. I usually wrap it in 3-4 ziploc bags, pack those in my overnight wash kit and make sure the wash kit is packed in the middle of my luggage with lots of stuff around it. Flying international, you need to be a little more careful as they may open your bag and have a look. I get a shampoo bottle with a wide open top. Again, pack the pot into ziplock and roll it tight so it fits into the shampoo bottle. Empty the shampoo into a holding container, pack the pot into the shampoo bottle, and then fill it back up with shampoo. Put the shampoo bottle into a big ziploc bag ("in case it leaks"). I go out of town on business a few times a month, maybe 25-30 trips per year. Been doing it like that for 10 years, never had a problem. Maybe a bit of overkill, but better than the alternative of ending up in a foreign prison.
