I didnt want to keep my bitcoins on SR, so I created an offline wallet on my computer. i got an address for that wallet to deliver my bitcoins to, and ive tracked the transaction on blockchain, but it says i have 9 confirmations, and yet no money in my bitcoin wallet.. i was wondering if there was a certain amount of time it usually takes for this type of transaction. anyone help?:( :-[

I haven't had occasion to withdraw from SR all that often but two to three hours and six or so confirmations seems to work for me. Maybe wait a few more hours (overnight) just to be safe before contacting SR, but they should be able to straighten it out for you if the coins haven't shown up by then.

okay, ill sleep on it and check in the morning, thanks!

If you've only just installed the Bitcoin software (e.g. Bitcoin-qt) then it will take a while for the software to synchronise with the network. That process can take a while given the current size of the blockchain.

The rate varies according to your system, Internet connection and most importantly how many connections to the Bitcoin network you have. The bottom right-hand corner of the Bitcoin-qt client will tell you whether or not your wallet is encrypted, how many connections you have to the Bitcoin network, how many blocks you have downloaded and whether or not it is up to date.
Currently there are a little over 190,000 blocks in the network. So if you're client has 180,000 of them it won't take too long for that to update, but if it only has 30,000 of them then it will take some time.
