It's called Silent Circle and it might help, depending on how much of it depends on all the other parties having the same service. PRZ also developed an implementation of the ZRTP protocol for secure voice calls, called Zfone. They're good links, but it should be mentioned that Zfone has been effectively abbandoned. PRZ now recommends people rely on other implementations of ZRTP for VoIP encryption.Personally I think that's a shame because it appeared to work well in all my tests and work with numerous other clients. It should be noted that Silent Circle is actually PRZ's third foray into encrypted calls. Back in the '90s he released a little known program called PGPfone to encrypt voice calls, mainly on the landline. PGPfone would be installed on a computer with a modem and a call would be made from a phone through that, to another system configured the same way to achieve an end-to-end encrypted call.Quote from: Guru on July 01, 2012, 10:19 pmI'm not aware of anything that encrypt the whole device either, but I'm far from expert on phones, as I refuse to carry one. Smartphones these days are essentially just computers with custom operating systems. It's theoretically possible to design one which uses full disk encryption, but to my knowledge no one has done it yet. Not in the commercial market at any rate.
