Well, sign me up for the ranks of those that have deposited BTC and are hopefully waiting for the return of Silk Road. Dude, your job has got to be soooo stressful... I couldn't do it.

Thanks for all you do, Cap'n Roberts! I'm surely not the only one who considers you a GodSend.

Dagnammit, was in the process of finalising a trio of orders from a vendor. One got through, then the site crapped out. If you're reading, dear vendor, I'm onto it just as soon as I can!

Hmm, SR went down just about 20 minutes after I made a Bitcoin deposit to my account.  Over 24 hours later & I haven't seen my deposit show up ~~ wonder if  there's a connection between the downtime and all the missing deposits.

I'm keeping the faith that it'll all work out tho'    :D
Title: Re: brief downtime
Post by: small time on September 24, 2013, 09:00 pm
So no deposits are getting thru right now?

This is concerning as I deposited earlier today.

Hopefully this can be resolved soon. I remember the last big deposit delay that took days, I lost a good bit of USD that time because bitcoin dropped in value while everybody was waiting.

EDIT: I just checked again and most of my coins are in my account, I'm sure the rest will be along shortly.

Hope everyone else deposit show up soon.

Any time frame you can give?

Still waiting on a deposit from over 24 hours ago.  Support has been anything but helpful.  This appears to be a widespread problem (hence the 5 page thread at the top of the Customer support forum).

According to SR support that problem was fixed 12 hours ago. Yet, I still don't have any bitcoins in my account and can't get anything but an automated response.

Piss poor customer service.

I understand your frustration.  What, specifically did support tell you?  Have they diagnosed the problem and are future deposits/withdrawals safe from this type of 'delay'?

We're working on a small issue with archived addresses at the moment; to avoid this in future, please always use a new address for each deposit.

Apologies for the delay - it'll be fixed as soon as possible!

We've corrected the problem with delayed deposits, but it is likely that a few were never credited.  If you are still waiting on a deposit, please contact support with the deposit address and amount so they can manually review your case and credit you.  Sorry to those that were affected by this.

Do I have to wait another 12 hours?  That will put it past 2 days by the way.  I ask because I was just told by support (less than 3 min ago) I had to wait another 12 hours before they would credit me manually.

please try to remember that we are on the bleeding edge of several technological fronts and do our absolute best to serve the community.  Considering that there is no standard to compare Silk Road to, speculating how it should and shouldn't be is going to be hard to nail down.  All things considered, it shouldn't function nearly as well as it does and for what it's worth, I am thoroughly impressed with my admins and staff.

I had to go to bed and could not mail my deposit address to support until recently. 45 minutes has gone and it is unread. Can I expect to have to wait for it to be manned for me being in another time-zone? I really need help getting these lost coins back..  Maybe its too early to ask that, but since I had a support message go unread for 6 hours yesterday, I thought Id ask. Granted, that one was titled Bitcoin Deposit Delay, so I can see why someone would not be in a hurry clicking that while they were already working on it and receiving more and more of those.

I apologize for my earlier comment, it shouldn't have been made without a more thorough explanation.

I am unimpressed with the level of customer service I received.  I have no idea how hard or diligently person(s) were working behind the scenes to resolve my issue.  I don't doubt you when you say you are on the "bleeding edge of several technological fronts", I can't pretend to understand what it takes to keep SR up and running. When I said "It shouldn't be this hard" I was referring to the communication between SR staff and myself, not the nuts and bolts of physically resolving the problem.

When it comes to customer service I don't think Silk Road is unique, I think good customer service is universal.  The ability to provide good customer service comes down to timely, succinct, honest communication and empowerment.  I feel like SR support did a poor job of communicating with me about this problem.  I feel it is unacceptable to have a thread in "Customer support" with hundreds of views and pages of post go untended by SR support staff for hours and hours.  Furthermore, when dealing with support directly through the main site, it took 8 hours for an initial reply, I was first given canned responses that didn't address my questions, then was told I had to wait 12 hours for help, while you said in this very thread to contact support.

A little better communication would have gone a long way in this instance, just a little added effort would have been the difference.  What is the point of having a "Customer support" forum when it isn't being used? I may be overly critical, I admit I hold people to a high standard when it comes to customer service and I find poor service inexcusable.  However, I also feel I appreciate good service more than most and hope I do a good job of showing it.

It's worth a lot.  I wouldn't think much of you as a business owner if you didn't stand behind your people.

John - SR is unique and cannot operate with the same level of customer support that you expect from Amazon or Zappos or wherever.

I doubt SR has staff trained specifically in customer support. Perhaps you could spend of your own time and write up a programme of best practises. Get involved to make some positive change instead of complaining.

Either add some greater value or adjust your expectations mate otherwise you'll be a very unsatisfied participant on the Road.

Title: Re: brief downtime
Post by: Libertas on September 25, 2013, 10:01 pm
All Support tickets relating to deposit issues have now been processed, replied to, and credited where necessary. To prevent similar issues in future, please always use a new address for each deposit; though it may occasionally take longer than we all want for an issue to be resolved, rest assured that if there are issues with deposits, you will always get your bitcoins.

I would like to offer my sincerest apologies to those affected by the issue, and would also like to apologise for the delayed response times that many of you experienced. We do our best to ensure a response within 12 hours but when tickets back up about issues like this it does take a lot longer to get through them; that being said, we'll make every effort to keep the response time to a minimum during any possible future issues.

It's a pleasure and an honour to serve each and every one of you within this incredible system that DPR provides - and which, without you guys, would cease to exist - and again, I apologise for the delays and hope that none of you have been too greatly inconvenienced as a result.

Keep fighting the good fight!
