Title: BTC sent from SR wallet, what happens if it's sent back?
Post by: deep987 on August 07, 2013, 03:22 am
I like Silk Road's built in coin mixing and generating a new BTC address whenever I want, so I generally send all my bitcoins to my SR "wallet". My question is, if I sent some bitcoins into escrow to a different service, say localbitcoins, and the transaction falls through and my BTC are sent back, will they end up back in my SR wallet?

The reason I'm not sure is because when you send BTC out of your SR wallet I don't think they come out as being from your SR wallet address, according to the blockchain. I could be wrong on that. So if they send it back to whatever address SR used to send, it won't be my address.

Bitcoins sent off-site to gambling sites such as satoshidice etc. that send back to the same address that the BTC were sent from will be lost. Silk Road wallet addresses cannot be used for sending 'from', only for sending 'to'.

Localbitcoins requires you to fund your wallet there before you can fund a sell order so the bitcoins will already be on that site if you decide not to go through with the transaction.
