Title: Review Submitted Address: Buying bitcoins on SR with MoneyPak -- Order cancelled
Post by: broken string on July 15, 2013, 02:47 am
Hello,

Forgive me if this has been answered before, but the other day I used a vendor's bitcoin-purchasing service on SR, whereby I put the code in the address and place the order, he sends the funds directly to my account etc. Well, the day after I placed the order. this vendor said in a PM that he hit his daily limit and I would wake up to the funds in my account. The next morning, I see he has cancelled the order, and on his vendor page he claimed to be having trouble redeeming the MoneyPaks.

So, either he cancelled all of his orders in good faith because he could not get the funds he needed, or he stole the MP and redeemed the code, cancelling the order and preventing me from leaving feedback. Here's where I encounter my problem: I threw the (what I thought was useless) MoneyPak away, so even if this vendor did not rip me off, the only record of the code would be in the address I submitted, which brings me to my question--is it possible to view the address I submitted with my order, if I have the TX#? If the vendor did not scam me, I could use the code with another vendor or something to get my coins. If I don't get that code and he didn't scam me, then I threw $80 in the garbage, which would really suck.

Thanks a lot.

Once an order is marked 'in transit' or cancelled by either the buyer or the vendor, all information from the address box is immediately erased.

Regarding the order itself, Silk Road can not offer support for Bitcoin exchange purchases and we recommend that you do not buy Bitcoin from exchangers operating on Silk Road. Please read the Buyer's Guide and the FAQ section of the SR Wiki:

If you feel the vendor has scammed you though, please message SR Support over on the main site.
