Post by: brianbertz on June 12, 2013, 12:24 am
so i bought bitcoins at the mt.gox price from bitinstant which was at 108.70 about and when i looked on sr it said 106 and some change so i was supposed to recieve in my account 331 and some change and my order was 325 and i only got 321. ten bucks short so now i cant order my damn bud and am hoping that someone sends me 5 bucks for the order and im pissed cuz thats just 10 bucks gone that was mine. sr should fix how slow you guys update the current price of bitcoins cuz right now everyone is getting robbed when they make an order directly after they buy bitcoins. i want my 10 bucks back!!

Silk Road uses a 24 hour rolling average to determine the value of Bitcoin on the site. This is done to protect users from price fluctuations, so instead of being subject to a large loss if Bitcoin value suddenly drops by 10 -15% (as would be the case if Silk Road used the 'last' BTC price) members are insulated from the volatility.

Given Bitcoin's volatility you should always deposit a little more than you think you're going to need for your purchase.

i did. i put up a little over 6 dollars extra. i dont have enough to throw anymore extra down. i can understand that if the price drops but when its not dropping alot and i lose money so i cant order now thats not really protecting me. i consider it stealing my money. it will be cool if they get my my money back or if someone will at least loan me 5 just so i can order what i need. the order is all i really care about and im 5 short now. frustrating lol.
