Title: Can any veteran member recommend a vendor for coins?
Post by: GizzeLda on June 06, 2013, 04:55 am
It would be very helpful if an experienced and trusted member could direct me or some of us newbi's to a trusted and reliable vendor that can turn some cash into coin. Without having to put up 500 plus dollars.  Thanks for any help,   :-*  :-* Love Love

JumboMonkeyBisuit is of good repute. Don't think there's a minimum for cash. Takes 10%.

I'm not a vet., however.

Silk Road recommends that you do not use Bitcoin exchangers that operate on Silk Road - please see the following entries on the SR Wiki:

Please note that, while there are many vendors offering to sell Bitcoins directly from this site, we are not set up to facilitate this and it is very easy to get scammed this way. Until we are set up for it, we recommend you get Bitcoins from a third-party exchange. If you do get scammed we will have no way to help you.

I need help with a bitcoin transaction from a Silk Road vendor.

Unfortunately we do not offer support for these kinds of transactions because we cannot hold your payment in escrow. If there is an issue, you'll have to work it out directly with your vendor.

Oh no you didn't do anything wrong, not at all! I just wanted to point out that we recommend you get your Bitcoin off-site because we can't protect you due to how BTC purchases take place when buying from a Silk Road vendor (requiring you to send your Bitcoin to the vendor before they send anything to you).

Shit I pay for my btc at walmart through a moneygram with bit instant. I use a fake name on the paperwork and my store doesnt id. Gets directly deposited in my sr wallet. I think its pretty anon. But I also just made my first purchase yesterday and havent been around long enough to have heard any different. Idk. I almost didn't go through with sr but I felt comfortable after the transfer at walmart.

Buying from bitinstant is not anonymous. There are cameras where you deposit the money and it is most likely against the law to not use your real name (I assume). If you deposit the coins directly to SR, it also looks very suspicious due to the way the coins are handled once sent to your SR address.

There is no getting away from cameras now a days, but that does not give a way identity unless your already on the radar. I would think that they are not concerned so much with the small time individual buying a few coins every so often, but there most certainly will be a video of you by going to Wally World regardless.  More importantly, is there an electronic trail from moving coins and are the coins labeled with an electronic Id?  ???
