Hi Immortally,

I'm not aware of any issues with the Silk Road system wallet at the moment so this is almost certainly a problem with your Electrum client. If possible, please download a portable version of Electrum (which you can get from their website) and install it onto a USB stick. Try sending a small amount of Bitcoin to that from your desktop based Electrum client (be sure to include the minimum transaction fee) and let me know if the transaction completes successfully.

EDIT: I just read your thread here:
http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/index.php?topic=167271.msg1191521#msg1191521

I think the issue may be that you're not paying the transaction fee. Bitcoin transactions that do not pay a transaction fee can, depending on their size (in kb), sometimes take a very long time to process - occasionally taking weeks. The transaction fee is paid to the miners and they prioritise transactions with a fee in them.

If the Bitcoin has indeed been sent from your Electrum wallet then you cannot 'pull it back' - Bitcoin transactions are irreversible by design. Feel free to PM me the address you were sending them to and I'll take a look on blockchain.info to see if I can figure out what's happened.

Thank you very much Libertas for the quick answer,to be honest i did maby 9 transactions whitout fee and it works out well.
Why this happens when i only had 0.11 left in my wallet, and saw the red warning not enough funds, even when i received my new bitcoins again?
So you,ve to pay 0.001 fee whit every  transaction? I try to follow your instructions to install a new electrum wallet and send a small amount to it(whit fee:-)  for now thanks again i,ll keep you informed.. :-*

That's one of the risks you take when you send with zero fees, I'm afraid. PM me the address you were sending to and I'll see if I can see what's happening in the meantime, then try the portable Electrum client.

I,ve send you a msg because this goes over my head pfffff:-) no i,m not blond :)

I'm just going to post my responses here if that's alright, Immortally? It's better for others who might be having a similar problem in the future to be able to see the solution:

You have to download the portable version and install it on a USB stick - not download the regular version. I presume you're using Windows?
You can get the portable version here in the "Windows" category; click on "Portable version":
http://electrum.org/download.html

Download it and copy/paste it to a USB stick, then run the portable .exe file.
You need to follow the instructions that pop up exactly, and copy the Wallet generation seed into a notepad file so you don't lose access to it. Copy & Paste the Wallet generation seed in where it tells you to re-enter it and follow the instructions on-screen and you should be good to go. As long as you install it on a USB stick you can run the portable version and the normal version at the same time.

Hello good afternoon libertas

I told you last night i installed both:an update version of electrum and the portable version!
Today i tried whit the version(The updated one  added  automatically  a suggested fee,not the old one)and i send a small amount to my Sr account,
and it works :) I.ve read about these fees but it works without them,so when after 9 times electrum refuses to work,i didn,t make this link.
I could prevented this issue if i,ve read the small words and agree the suggested fee is nothing.
So now i can make an purchase if the vendor is back from weekend:-) so it,s solved this part but i still don,t know how this portable version works?and if ever my pc crashes how to restore, but we can work this out some other time if you,ve more time(saying this because moderates are sooo busy) ;)
So Again i want to thank you for your time and energy to look at this issue.. :-*

ps no i,ve no problem you posted your responses here,it,s like you said interesting for others!! i copied this also from my last msg whitout the test result part:-)
also i deleted this thread    http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/index.php?topic=167271.msg1191521#msg1191521

Great, glad to hear you got it sorted out. The fees are very important, and it's only a very small amount (.0005 BTC or .0001 BTC) so it's definitely worth paying them.

Regarding the portable version, everything that it needs is stored on the USB stick so you PC crashing wouldn't effect your BTC as long as you have it all stored on that wallet. If you're concerned about your PC crashing though, the string of words (the Wallet Seed) that it shows you when you're first setting up is what is used to restore your wallet so don't lost access to that! Make sure you have it written down / saved somewhere safe and secure. If you ever need to restore, feel free to message me and I'll walk you through it. :)

Having problems transfering from Electrum as well.  Has been pending for the last 2 hours with 0 confirmations.  Never had this problem before.

Update....It now has 1 confirmation, lol.  Guess time is the factor in my position.

Make sure you include a fee for your transfers, Boostedh, even if you have not done so before. It helps keep the Bitcoin network alive by giving back to the miners and it ensures that your transfer won't get added to the pile of queued unconfirmed transfers (which are only included in a block if there are no more transfers with transactions fees, as blocks can only be a certain size and transfers with appropriate fees are processed first).

EDIT: You can see an example of a queued, unconfirmed transaction here:

The "Estimated Confirmation Time" section explains more.

Ok, so let me ask this...Does me increasing how much the fee is, increase the speed it transfers?  I believe the fee i usually have set is .0005?  If i increase it to .001 would that increase the transfer time?

Technically speaking, yes. Realistically though, any transaction has to be included in a newly mined block in order for it to actually "go through" (or be recognised as valid by any Bitcoin wallet), so it won't increase the confirmation time. It will increase the speed at which miners process it though, yes. As long as you pay the recommended fee, however, there will be no problem.

Personally, I always include a fee of double what the recommended fee is, and/or make it at least 2 - 3% of the overall amount I'm sending, mainly just to give back to the miners that make all of this possible but also to ensure my transaction is seen to ahead of other transactions that pay lower fees.
