Title: Refund Percentage Reversed
Post by: sclerogal on May 31, 2013, 03:21 am
I've been in resolution with  Greendaddy888 for 2 purchases, and the st purchase I was refunded 100%.  The 2nd purchase I offered him a 25% refund for his shipping, handling issues as a good gesture on my part.  I knew he was going to loose, and I would win.  I did not want him to think I wanted any freebee's or in scamming him.  However, if the refund is 25%, does that mean I only get a refund of 25% OR does that men he keeps all but 25%?  If that the case, THAT'S incorrect.  I offered him a 25% refund on my purchase.  I was suppose to keep 75% of my money from the purchase and he was to keep 25%.  Please alert SR Admin that it was suppose to be stated as that. I didn't have to offer anything I was trying to show good sportsmanship for him falsifying his description.  Below is the transaction info.  Please help, I'm not sure if this was a error on my part or SR admin.  I was the "nice guy" and I don't want to finish last.  Please please please help me straighten this out.  Also, I need to make sure I am understanding this, I am suppose to keep 75% of the purchase price.  Greendaddy888 is suppose to keep 25% of sales money.

Hi sclerogal,

As explained in the help pop-up in the resolution center:

Quote
Welcome to the resolution center. Here you'll find everything you need to resolve any transaction that didn't go as expected. You can either extend the time the transaction stays in resolution or propose a fair refund.

You should first consider extending the due date when the resolution expires. Consider the longest time you would be willing to wait before you give up on the possibility of the order ever arriving. Next, you should propose a fair refund (100% is a full refund and 0% is no refund). What is the most you are willing to give up in the transaction while still feeling ok about it? You can even propose both types of resolutions and leave it up to the other party to decide which to accept.

At any time, you can finalize the transaction by releasing payment (as a buyer) or issuing a full refund (as a seller). You can also finalize by accepting a resolution proposed by your trading partner.

Do your best to give the other party the benefit of the doubt and avoid getting into a conflict. If you can't come to an agreement before the due date, an administrator will review the case and make a final judgement. Please do everything you can to avoid this outcome.

There is more information about the resolution center in the wiki. Please keep all communication regarding this resolution in the resoltion center.

You should also read the following SR Wiki entries:

http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/wiki/index.php?title=Frequently_Asked_Questions#Why_is_my_refund_less.2Fmore_than_I_paid.3F

Proposing a 25% refund means that you are asking for 25% of your funds to be returned to you - a refund is taken out of the funds that you paid into the escrow system. Once a resolution has been agreed between the relevant parties or decided upon by an administrator, the decision in the matter is final and the resolution is closed.

This seems like a misunderstanding on your end as to how the refund process works; you thought that you were issuing the refund instead of the refund being issued to you.

Unfortunately there's nothing that can be done in this instance as you agreed to receive a 25% refund by proposing that refund percentage.

I see my mistake, but I don't see the pop-help.  It's too bad, had I not been nice, and allowed SR Admin to rule, I would have got the entire refund.

The pop up appears when you hover your mouse of the question mark beside the "Resolution Center" title. You should always try to come to an agreement with the vendor first inside the resolution center, but if you can't, administrators will make a fair ruling on the matter.

Thread locked as resolved.
