Hey this may be a dumb Q. I write this with full knowledge that it may backfire just to ask. Im trying to figure out why im getting so much negative karma points on posts and replies. I am contributing regularly to the forums and making helpful replies in my mind but the negative Karma keeps adding up. I know only members w 100+ posts can give it so what am i doin wrong? Would really appreciate a look and quick analysis if anyone willing to help. i am prepared for the criticism (hopefully positive). i really just want to be a positive influence in the community. Thanks.

Hard to tell dude, some members give negs just because they can..but as many as you have as opposed to your positives, its likely that the advice youve given is that which is frowned upon. Ill help as best i can with a +1...

yah i would have to read all your past posts to get an idea of what your writing but maybe people disagree with you. or its just 1 dick giving you negatives all the time lol
i wouldnt worry about it too much. everybody gets negative hits
try to write things that are correct. i have only given negative comments twice i think and it was cause the person was giving advice that was wrong or unsafe

Thanks RobLobLaw. I am Hoping that you are right that someone is just being a dick. I am ensuring that my statements are correct and to the point.
I try to link my responses and tidbits of advice to personal experiences. I know that not everyone will like what i have to say all the time and thats ok.
BTW I see you are diggin the Arrested development have you seen my new fav license plate?

I think there are just alot of trolls on here who have managed 100 posts and just give neg karma to everyone. It happens to everyone, i went a week without posting and got like -10 in that time. I'll give you a +1 now to even you out :) there is a whole thread in off topic dedicated to giving + karma so maybe head over there too

You really shouldn't worry too much about it ...... I picked up 2 in one night for participating in the " SCAMMER ALERT" thread. And yeah it was pretty irritating at first because I felt like everything I said was constructive and fair. But somebody didn't like it and popped me on a single night ...... In your case I would agree that some dick is nailing your ass every time he sees your profile. Nothing you can do ....... trolls will be trolls ...... Admin should limit the number of times you can hit a guy to 2 good or bad...

Hi I,ve read your 1st page of posts and can,t work out from them why you,d have any neg (tho i,ve not looked at them all). You write well and the posts aren,t trolly or nasty there are just some neg karma trolls on any forum i guess :-\ Don,t worry I,ve had a few opinions i,d rather voice them and take neg karma than stay quiet and not have an opinion, you,ll never please everyone and everyone has there own opinion, just stay true to what you want to say, don,t give a fuck about neg karma or you can go to off topic and you,ll find the plus karma thread, even tho you don,t have 100 posts yet you,ll still get karma from other nice people in there and when you get to 100 you can give out your own karma ;D I,ll +1 you now pal your posts were fine and your nice ;)

Yeah I got 2 negative ones. Not even sure why. I spammed up to 50 (Just posting numbers) but since then I think I've been pretty respectful (If you look through my past 7 posts). It irked me a bit but it's just one of those things I suppose. If I solidify myself as a regular and post advice I reckon I'll get more positives.

Don't worry too much - a lot of us are getting negged about 14 times over the course of a few minutes every day. Even DPR and inigo who don't post often at all. We've reported the issue to DPR, but I have a feeling it's just something that we'll have to live with.

It's nice when you catch the prick out negging you. samesamebutdifferent negged a long-standing member 14 times in 30 seconds b/c he didn't like her post, so I would think very carefully about donating to someone like that or even +1'ing them. Some people on here just love to hate. I often come in here +1'ing people because this section is hit pretty hard but when a mod does it, it's kinda of shitty. Especially to a respected member and especially when it is 14 times on one shot. :-\
I see the mods are now locking threads that talk about karma so I'll keep my fingers crossed this one doesn't get locked too.

Ugh - once again, Razorspyne, SSBD DID NOT NEG HER. NONE OF US DID. She's just one of the many members who has been mass-negged along with the rest of us. Stop trying to make people think it was SSBD. I'm flat out telling you it was NOT ANY OF US. If it was, we'd admit it rather than waste our time trying to convince you of the truth.

Also, as this is right on topic, and before a mod locks this thread as they are now locking threads left, right and center without reasonable explanation, I have heard mention of a "shill master" being responsible for these negs. Does anyone think it is reasonable that the negs are coming from 1 person with a shit load of acc./s or is this really far fetched? Or do you believe it is from many acc./s?
How can people be negged 14 times within seconds from different acc./s? The time taken to get them from 1 to 100, then log into each individual acc./, and "reign negs" to so many people, all at once..... something doesn't add up.

And yet you don't think it is at all far-fetched to accuse me and SSBD of wasting our time by mass-negging random people 14 times for no reason? Use some common sense here. I don't have an explanation for you - all I can tell you for sure is what I know, and that is that we are ALL on the same team here and we are ALL getting negged ~14 times in only a few minutes and NONE OF THE MODS are responsible. We are being negged too, obviously, as are Dread Pirate Roberts and inigo - neither of whom are regular posters here.

That's okay, no one has to be on my team in this, but the accusations are beyond ridiculous here. Still, there's no reasoning with some people who would rather believe their own conspiracy theories, so I think maybe I'm done trying to convince people of things they refuse to hear.

Razorspyne and PrincessHIGH - you are both free to believe whatever you like in this matter, even though we've all already reassured you multiple times that the negs are NOT coming from us. Not a single one of us would have a problem admitting it if we had indeed negged either of you. The fact remains that we can't admit that because it wasn't ANY of us. Unless, of course, you want to accuse the admin of it as well. Pretty sure they didn't neg you 14 times either.
Feel free to keep arguing about this, but responding to this conspiracy crap is wasting too much time (and is obviously not getting through to you).
I have also mentioned that we have already brought this up with DPR and the other admin, as the mass-negging is a widespread problem affecting more than just you and PrincessHIGH.

The only reason you have so many posts is b/c you say 1 or 2 lines that are indicative of you ADD and are 1 liners like "YEAAAH" or "Fuck me" or "Heeeeeey". The reason I have locked the other threads is because they just devolve into your long-winded conspiracy theories about how SSBD negged PrincessHIGH - which he did NOT do. You are the one making this personal by accusing the moderators (particularly SSBD) of this childish bullshit and trying to convince everyone else to believe it. You attack him and then expect no one to come to his defense? Come now, it is no different than you sticking up for PrincessHIGH when she was negged. You defended her just like I am defending SSBD. PrincessHIGH (and others) did not deserve the mass-negging (no one does) - and SSBD does not deserve the attacks you have made on him either.
He does a damn good job here, as does Libertas, and I won't sit idly by while SSBD is accused of things he didn't do.
Not everything that happens here on SR is some grand team-agenda. :-\

Are you serious? What conspiracy theories have I been spouting? I've been saying quite plainly that I have no explanation for you on why so many of us are being mass-negged, but that what I *can* tell you for a fact is that it is not me, it is not SSBD, it is not Libertas, it is not DPR, it is not inigo, it is not Symmetry. That is not a conspiracy theory - that is stating a fact while also admitting that I don't have an answer as to who IS behind the mass-negging.

Take it or leave it, I've tried quite hard to appeal to reason and logic here, but you are having none of it.
