Title: I can't finalize!
Post by: SeriousChemistry on May 26, 2013, 09:18 pm
Hi!

I have to FE as the vendor requested. Anyway, I can't finalize early since there's no finalize button... What should I do?

I can't even press the cancel button. Look at the screenshot:

This is clearly not the right section to post this issue.
The finalize button only appears after the vendor have put it "in transit", and the cancel button appears after 3 or 4 days (not sure, it's on the wiki anyway) of the order not being put "in transit".

You should not finalize early by the way, as being out of the escrow system gives you no protection at all.

Hey pzv!

First, +1 for fast reply! Thank you very much!

Sorry for the wrong section. Maybe a mod can and will move it. Sorry for that, have seen it too late!

I know I should not FE, but I already made a few transaction with this vendor and he has two accounts, on the second he requires FE, so he can hold the price very low. What I want to say, this is a vendor I trust the most on the Silk Road right now, so I think I can take the risk and FE. And everybody in the feedback seems to be happy and receiving the package.

Personally, I don't care if DPR became a vendor; I still wouldn't FE out of principle.

First of all, please post in the correct sections in future. Product Offers is not the place for these kinds of threads.

To answer your question, you cannot Finalise an order until it has been marked 'in transit' by the vendor. The reason for this is because when you Finalise an order, you are stating that you have received it and are 100% satisfied with it, and obviously you can't have received it if it hasn't yet been sent.

If you decide to FE on this purchase there will be NOTHING that Silk Road can do to help you should something go wrong - as a result, if something does go wrong, please do not start a thread in the forums asking what you can do to get your money back. Silk Road cannot help you once you leave the protection of the escrow system. We strongly advise that all customers stay within the safety of escrow; it is there for YOUR protection.

Once you've placed your an order, your vendor has up to 4 days to either ship it or cancel it. After 4 days, if they haven't shipped, you can cancel it yourself from your orders page. When you cancel, you will immediately be given a full refund.
